When
was the last time you tried a pork rind? I’ll admit that pork rinds aren’t my favorite
crunchy snack option, but since my husband loves snacking on a quality pork
rind occasionally, I’ve acquired a taste for them. Sadly, not all pork rinds
are created equally, and over the years we’ve tasted a few lack luster pork
rinds. Imagine my delight when I was asked if I would like to try Southern Recipe Small Batch pork rinds. Southern
Recipe? Small Batch? I’m in! They were kind enough to send me a complimentary snack
bags of two of their tasty flavors that I’d like to share with you today. They
are running a really fun summer snack packing giveaway too! Details below.
Best Questions to Ask on College Visits
in college, FamilyLife, Lipscomb University, Nashville, Nashville TN, questions, resources, visits, by Linda A Kinsman, Wednesday, June 26, 2019
Deciding which colleges to visit can be a fun
and exciting time for parents and kids, but it can also be a stressful time with
a lot of unknowns to contend with. There are hundreds of potential students and
families vying for the same parking spots, dorm room tours and more. Looking
back on the whole process with our oldest daughter, who will be going into her
Junior year at Lipscomb University in the fall, we could have saved ourselves a
few headaches had we known about Collegewise and their helpful admissions and
applications assistance. Today I'm happy to share this guest post by Casey Near of Collegewise on the best questions to ask
on college visits I think you’ll find very helpful.

This Friday, the twenty-first is the official start to
summer! Yay - (again ) since most of us with kids in
school had the unofficial start of summer over Memorial Day weekend. Now that
summer is really “officially” here; it’s time for more BBQ’s, pool days,
camping, potlucks and bonfires. The one thing all of these fun summer
activities have in common is good food and nothing says summer more than happy
people with sticky fingers from their Smores.
If you and your family love Smores too, why not kick off summer with
Stuffed Puffs?

Happy June everyone! I’ve been a little quiet around here because
we are in starting a major home renovation project. We had a water leak in the
kitchen overnight that led to water damage in roughly half our home! Everything
from flooring to cabinets will need to be replaced, so I’ve decided to share
the process here on the blog. Today though, I want to start a new tradition
here on the blog- gift guides! Brands have been asking me for years if I do
then, so I decided to seize the day and start with Father’s Day! I’m sharing
three smart and useful gift ideas I think the men in your life will love.

Everybody has their go-to pair of shoes. You know, the super comfortable, cute ones that just fit their personality and lifestyle. For me, that means more often than not, you’ll find me wearing sneakers. Like most people I know, I own multiple styles and types of sneakers I wear for different tasks. With the exception of my gardening sneaks, I care about how they look and try to keep them as clean as possible; especially if they are whited soled. I’ve recently discovered a cool cleaning hack where I can clean my favorite white soled sneakers quickly in less than 15 minutes with no drying time needed.

Do615 a fun way to make the most of Nashville
in entertainment, explore, fun, local events, Music City, Nashville, things to do, by Linda A Kinsman, Wednesday, April 03, 2019
When my husband and I moved to
Nashville in the 90’s, downtown was a full on, old school country music scene.
From the honky-tonks, Printer’s Alley and record label headquarters, it really was country. Today, you won't see the
long gone Hard Rock Cafe and Fuddruckers of the 90's, you'll see high rises and construction sites and traffic! To say Music City has changed in an understatement.
Nashville has grown, and continues to grow at such an alarming pace that even
locals like us need help navigating our day trips into Nashville, so today I’m
sharing a new to me guide called Do615, this website is a fun way to make the
most of a Nashville trip whether you have a day or a week.

Our Delightfully Scented Home:
Happy Friday and happy first day of winter. Our middle Tennessee
weather has decided to match the season by turning cold, wet and windy
overnight. There is even a slight chance of a flurry or two later today! We
love seeing the snow, but don’t care for the bone chilling temps. A week or two
before winter truly sets in, I get out my family’s winter coats, check them for
wear, missing buttons and stains. I usually have at least one coat I need to
run to the dry cleaners, but I got to save time and money this year by dry
cleaning them at home with Dryel.

The countdown to the most wonderful time of the year has finally arrived! My fall and holiday baking season will truly begin now and requests for my family’s favorite pies, cobblers, loaves of bread and cookies coming in. I’ve already baked a Pumpkin Pie, brownies and a dozen cookies. While I love having sweet treats on hand, I want to be aware of my sugar intake and theirs. Some of my close family members had or have prediabetes and type 2 Diabetes, so I’ve learned the importance of being aware of your blood sugar levels throughout the day and how certain foods and drinks can help minimize blood sugar spikes now and throughout the holiday season.
Prep your holiday table linens with Biz Stain Fighter
in #AD, #Biz Ambassador, cleaning, holiday linens, homemaking, traditions, by Linda A Kinsman, Thursday, November 15, 2018
We are in the preliminary stages of planning our Thanksgiving day here and for me and my girls that means choosing which tablecloth and napkin set, we’ll use this year. We all have our favorites and it really won’t matter to me which ones we choose as long as they are clean and wrinkle-free. I love table linens and was fortunate enough to be gifted some vintage tablecloths from my Grandmother in Law and three handmade doilies from my Grandmother.
The fact that she crocheted these doilies herself make them even more special to me, so I decided early on to bring them out only during the holidays to preserve their beauty. Sadly, there was a staining mishap the last time I had them out. I didn’t realize there was a stain until the next day, so it set in and I was afraid it may never come out until I remembered, I’m a Biz Stain Fighter Ambassador! Read on to see how you can prep your holiday linens with Biz just like I did.

My role as a homemaker is one I treasure. I try my best to think of the wants and needs of not only my family but of all who may visit and spend time in our home so they will feel welcomed and comfortable. When planning for company, there is one room in the home that deserves a little more time and attention than others. No, it’s not the kitchen or the living room. Today I want to focus on the bathroom. Ever since I helped take care of my mother in law, I've looked at what is available in bathrooms from a caregivers perspective, so I’ve made a quick and easy hygiene essentials basket perfect for every guest, including seniors.
