Doing laundry is one of those chores every family must do and there’s usually a person in charge of this sometimes monumental task. At my house, I’m chief laundry officer and I’ve taken a few steps to ensure things run as smoothly as possible. My family sorts and sometimes pre-treats their clothing before leaving the laundry room, but sometimes stains remain- that’s where I come in.

Today I’m sharing a new laundry detergent from Purex that will help banish your toughest laundry stains! I received a complimentary bottle via #SocialInsiders to try to share my thoughts with you and host a giveaway for 3 free coupons for full sized products. All opinions and love of clean, fresh smelling laundry are my own.

About Purex + Clorox 2 detergent:

Purex plus Clorox 2 detergent is formulated to remove the toughest stains. Purex + Clorox 2 detergent works on 100 stains is safe for colors and is bleach free. This detergent contains 3 stain-fighting enzymes to remove:

Starchy stains like chocolate and tomato sauce
Protein-based stains like grass and blood

In the winter when skin is at its most sensitive, I use Purex free and clear laundry detergent. I’ve found that it cleans well and stops my family from scratching their shins and chins. J Once springtime gets here though, I switch to a scented detergent, one that can handle the seasonal scents that arrive with the warmer weather.

I’m talking sweat and mud stains and smoke from cookouts and bonfires and trips to the lake type scents here folks, and guess what? After trying Purex + Clorox 2 for a week, I can say my spring laundry is going to be clean and smell as fresh as the sunny linen scent of this detergent!

My Thoughts:

So far, Purex + Clorox 2 has handled my husband’s work clothes which can get muddy from walking around job sites with contractors and clients. It handled the wet dog smell he came home with after a friendly Golden Retriever decided he wanted to play too. It even took out a small blood stain from his jeans from where he had nicked his finger. I’m was impressed!

Purex + Clorox 2 tackles Mascara:

Now that both my daughters are wearing makeup, my white wash clothes get stained with mascara occasionally. This wash cloth had recently been washed without pre-treating it. The mascara stains weren’t removed fully, so I decided to do a quick pre-treat with Purex + Clorox 2. I poured just a little bit onto the stains, let set for 1 minute and washed the wash cloth again with Purex + Clorox 2 and voila! Stain gone!

With spring here and summer just around the corner, I’m thankful I now have another hardworking detergent to help me banish my laundry stains. Well done Purex! Rain, sleet, snow, ice. Four words nobody wants to hear, but much of the south has been hit by a winter storm the likes of which we haven’t seen in many years. And those words are still in our weather outlook for at least 24 hours. Thankfully, we had ample notice of our impending snow days, so we stocked up on necessities. One of the necessities for this work-at-home mom is craft supplies! Nothing keeps my girls happy and engaged more than a new bunch of craft supplies.

We’d had the opportunity to shop at FamilyChristian.com a couple of weeks ago and I’d made a point of putting up the order for just such an occasion, and I’m really glad I did. Like me, you might think of Family Christian book stores for Christian based books, like the newest Max Lucado book, Before Amen (which I highly recommend), or their awesome selection of Willow Tree figurines; but their craft section shouldn’t be missed!

My youngest recently celebrated her birthday, so she decided to make personalized thank-you cards with the cool card stock and stamp set she got from our online shopping trip.

The great thing about the card stock we chose, besides its vibrant color choices, is the way the pad form keeps the sheets inside from getting damaged. Plus, the edge around the top cover shows the assortment of colors for you to easily find the color family you want. The texture of the card stock has a woven linen look, which makes it perfect for cards.

After my daughter chose her paper, she got out all the stamps and pencils from this awesome princess stamping set from Melissa & Doug and set to work making her own unique thank-you cards.

I love how each one turned out a bit different and how much fun my birthday girl had making her own cards. Clean-up and storage was a breeze, because all the stamps and pencils fit right back in their wooden tray.

My oldest daughter had picked out an owl sewing craft kit that is beyond cute! The Sew Cute kit includes everything you need to make two fun and easy owl projects! She set to work by familiarizing herself with all the supplies provided in her kit.

This is an easy and fun craft she can do in an afternoon. I think she’s going to give one of the cute owl friends to one of her friends for an upcoming birthday gift too.

I love how our snow day craft projects not only made my girls’ day happy, but how they will be spreading that happiness to their friends as well. That’s the great thing about doing crafts and D.I.Y. projects; you usually wind up sharing that love with others.
