Now that warmer days are here, my family and I love spending time outside in the evenings. I love that our home has two outdoor spaces to sit, relax and enjoy the view- a front porch and a back patio, both of which have things in common. Pretty nature views, ample seating, and flowers! I just love the look of a pretty container full of blooming flowers, so when I had the opportunity to review Nature Hills Instant Wall Planter, I said yes. Read on to discover this charming wall planter idea for porch or patio.

Elevate your mood with travel inspired aromatherapy
in #AD, aromatherapy, decor, essential oils, fragrance, home, mood, natural, scents, travel, by Linda A Kinsman, Friday, March 09, 2018
We all strive to make our homes a welcoming place for ourselves and our friends and family because no matter how far we travel, there truly is no place like home. Scents play a bigger role in that welcoming feeling than you may imagine.
Scents like fresh baked cookies, or lemon zest or fresh Eucalyptus, for example, are scents that I associate with pleasant memories from places we’ve traveled too, or places I’ve lived. I’ve been reading up on Aromatherapy and the use of essential oils which led me to partner with Oojra, a woman-owned company that makes travel-inspired Essential Oil Reed diffusers and soy candles. This is Aromatherapy at its best, bringing exotic fragrances of the world into homes around the world.
Color of the Month- October 2017 -Raven Black
in #Halloween, black, cats, Color of the month, decor, inspiration, raven, by Linda A Kinsman, Monday, October 02, 2017
Happy October everyone! September flew by in a blur of activities and I never got my September color of the month blog post up. I feel bad about missing it, but in all honesty, I was so burned out (see last post here), that I wasn't sure if I even wanted to post these anymore. Then, a magical thing happened over the weekend- my inbox overflowed with positive "bloggy" things and I had to make the decision to sulk and give up on blogging, or suck it up and come back swinging. I chose the latter. So, without further ado, I wanted to get my color of the month post up ASAP so I can add to it (and so can you!) all month.
For October, I was inspired by all the pretty Raven black I've been seeing everywhere, including both my cats! While they aren't full raven black cats, they both have the prettiest black fur!
We did a lot of back to school and dorm room shopping over the last few weeks, which led to my color of the month post being shared a little later than I wanted. The upside is I discovered the perfect color of the month to share because we saw it everywhere! From velveteen throw pillows to cute dresses, a deep, rich, warm and inviting Burgundy has me longing for crisp fall days.
Did
you know that Avon, the iconic beauty brand has a line of gorgeous home decor?
If you answered no, you are not alone! Most people categorize the Avon name
with beauty, skincare and maybe fragrances, but the New Avon LLC offers
savvy shoppers so much more. That’s why I’m excited to share their current
sweepstakes for gorgeous dinnerware and decorative accents with you.

July is a hot and humid month here in the southeast so wearing breathable cotton clothing is a must and my go to color? All white. According to Farrow & Ball, the craftsmen in paint & paper:
“All White is exactly what it says! Unusually, it contains no other pigment except for white, creating the softest most sympathetic color without the colder blue undertones of a brilliant white.”
When you live in a house for almost a decade, you tend to
accumulate a lot of stuff. Not just new stuff, either. With every home my
husband and I have purchased, we’ve brought boxes from our previous home to go
through later. Later is now for me!

Organize your closet in an afternoon with simple accessories
in #AD, closet, decor, homemaking, organization, parenting teens, Style, by Linda A Kinsman, Thursday, May 18, 2017
Spring cleaning
continues this month at Casa Kinsman and while I feel like I’m making headway
in some areas (hello recycling bins
filled to the brim!), I’ve just started on closets. Oh, closet organization, how I avoid you, until now. When my friends
over at Tidy Living ask if I would like to work with them on their May
Madness spring cleaning sale, I
happily said yes because I knew I couldn’t let my closets stay messy. With the
help of two cool clothing accessories I received from today’s sponsor, I was
able to organize the messiest closet in one afternoon. Here’s how I did it.
This is a sponsored
post on behalf of Tidy Living. I received information/product to facilitate
my review as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation.

Color of the Month- January 2017 Blue-Gray
in Color of the Month- January 2017 Blue-Gray, decor, design, home, home improvement, paint, by Linda A Kinsman, Tuesday, January 31, 2017
I almost missed the first color of the month for 2017 because I was trying to talk myself out of my first color choice, because it would mean for the third year in a row, I've picked a shade of blue for January's color of the month. But, the more I let this post sit, the more I knew this was my pick, so without further delay I give you my January color of the month: Blue Gray.
My inspiration came from a photo of this amazing door.

Hallmark Fabulous Friends collection giveaway
in #LoveHallmark, decor, fabulous friends, gifts, giveaway, greeting cards, hand soap, home, journal, by Linda A Kinsman, Wednesday, September 07, 2016
Did you know that September is International Women’s friendship Month? It’s true! Women’s Friendship Day, started in 1999 by Kappa Delta sorority, was changed to a full month celebration of women’s friendships in 2009 because the day of celebration became so popular. I was thrilled to learn that I’d been selected to review and give away the new Fabulous Friends collection as part of the Love, Hallmark blogger group. While I did receive complimentary products for my post today, all opinions, love of beautiful products and friendships are 100% my own.
Not to toot my own horn, but over the years friends and relations have told me I’m a witty lady, so it's only natural that my eye was drawn to the lovely pillow in the Fabulous Friends collection first.
Isn’t it the cutest?
Here’s more information about each piece in the Fabulous Friends Collection and my ideas on which of your friends would love to receive them.
Pretty Witty Happy Large Pillow: “Bring happiness into your life with this oversized, embroidered pillow. The pom-pom attachments are sure to put a smile on your face!”
This pillow really does make us smile each and every time we see it. In fact, my girls and I have decided that this shall be our traveling pillow, moving from room to room because it is just that witty and stylish.
This pillow would be perfect for your women friends who love:
- Home décor shopping - (Hello, Pottery Barn!)
- Decorating - (Do you move her pillows when you visit? She needs this one, too!)
- Being crafty - (The attention to detail will have them admiring this pillow.)
Pretty Witty Never Quit Journal: “Perfect for jotting quick notes or logging the day's events, this softcover journal has metallic accents and a satin ribbon bookmark.” The aspirational yet optimistic quote on the cover reads “Never quit. Unless you hate it.”
This journal is so cool and stylish, it is almost too perfect to mar by using it. But, writing in it is what your women friends will want to do if they are:
- Journal keepers - (Look at witty me, pointing out the obvious!)
- Students or teachers - (They are processing tons of information all day; help them get it down in style.)
- Organizers or list makers - (Raises and waggles hand fervently!) I do so LOVE a good list and a game plan! Oh, and the doodling I would do while talking on the phone? Yes!
Crafters & Co. Liquid Soap: “Give your skin a treat! Made with essential oils, these soaps are available in eight soothing scents and feel as fresh and comforting as they smell.”
We received the Orange Amber scented hand soap and it smells like fall weather feels! It smells and works fabulously!! Give this gift to your women friends who love:
- Gardening - (Got a deadheading friend? A digger of dirt? Then her hands deserve this soothing and fragrant hand soap!)
- Cooking - (Hello garlic and herbs, I’m looking at you and your tasty, yet odorific selves!)
- New mom - (She is going to be washing her hands a lot, like, all day and night! She’ll appreciate the little hug for her hands.)
Pretty Witty Keep Friends Close Framed Art: “Express your style and spunk at home or the office. This painted frame showcases the quote “Keep your friends close and your wine closer.”
I’m not much of a wine drinker, unless a friend makes sangria, but I am a lover of a good quote and this lil’ frame has got a killer quote. Your women friends will love this if they:
- Wear green - (Fashionistas tend to decorate their homes and offices in colors they wear and this shade of green is on trend this fall.)
- Shares quotes and memes - (I see you, Instagram friends, smiling because I notice your efforts!)
- Drinks wine - (Again, I must point out the obvious gift recipient, for continuity in my witty post!)
Signature Greetings Pineapple Card: “This adorable embellished card is blank on the inside, leaving plenty of space to write a personalized note to a special friend! “
I have never met a woman who doesn’t love receiving a special card, especially if it’s got a heartfelt note written inside. I love the pineapple on the front because it’s the universal symbol for welcome or hospitality, making these cards a perfect gift for your women friends who are:
- The hostess with the mostest - (Her face popped in your mind when you read hostess, because she is the best at tailgates, parties and last minute anythings. Send her this card and watch her shine!)
- Realtors - (I can’t think of a better card for a realtor to leave on the kitchen counter with thanks for working with her, can you?)
- Techies - (Make that one friend who does EVERYTHING via her phone put it down and ponder the beauty of old school cool when you send her this card in the mail with a stamp!)

Adding copper and Autumn toned leaves to this iron wall art makes a happy statement.
