We did a lot of back to school and dorm room shopping over the last few weeks, which led to my color of the month post being shared a little later than I wanted. The upside is I discovered the perfect color of the month to share because we saw it everywhere! From velveteen throw pillows to cute dresses, a deep, rich, warm and inviting Burgundy has me longing for crisp fall days.
July is a hot and humid month here in the southeast so wearing breathable cotton clothing is a must and my go to color? All white. According to Farrow & Ball, the craftsmen in paint & paper:
“All White is exactly what it says! Unusually, it contains no other pigment except for white, creating the softest most sympathetic color without the colder blue undertones of a brilliant white.”

Wordless Wednesday White Clouds, Blue Skies

If we named months by the color we associated with them, March would simply have to be called green if you ask me! Green is everywhere! From the tiny light green fronds on my weeping willow, to the verdant green grass I see from my window, to the delicate green leaves of my newly emerging succulents. The photo of them below was the inspiration for March's color of the month.
I've curated a Pinterest board full of beautiful succulent greens this month. If you have a pin that would be perfect for my collection, leave me a comment and I'll add it!

Happy Friday, Happy Spring! And stay tuned for my succulent gardening tips soon!

I picked this color at the beginning of January, right after Pantone announced they had picked two colors of the year for 2016 and then life happened. Colds and snow and sick extended family and viola~ I'm just now posting my color of the month to kick off the year. I know you'll forgive me my tardiness because you are just awesome like that.
Here's my Pinterest board to help further our love of this color blue. I want to wear it everyday until spring!
Thanks for letting me know how much you loved this blog series I started last January. I have a lot of fun with these posts and love getting comments here and likes on my pins.

Merry Christmas! This is the final color of the month post for 2015 and I couldn't think of a more perfect color combo for this special honor than silver and gold.
This month's colors were inspired by the classic Christmas Carol and all the beautiful displays I see everywhere!
I found tons of wonderful pins on Pinterest and I've highlighted just three of my fav's above. I hope you enjoy my board for December and will return for this monthly post in 2016.
Merry Christmas and Happy holidays to you!
As we head towards Christmas and temperatures drop, gray skies like this one seem to rule the day.
But I have found beautiful, abundant, hard to take in colors at sunrise:

Which color palette do you prefer?
Happy Friday dear readers. We are finally going to get a hard freeze here in middle Tennessee, which has me scrambling to put up some of my containers that still have flowers blooming. Besides Mums on the front porch, I still have Marigold's blooming on the back deck. I love their vibrant, happy color! These are the inspiration for this month's color of the month.
As always, I hope you find color inspiration from my shares here and my Pinterest board collection.
The holiday's are knocking on our doors and it's hard to believe the year is winding down. Take a moment each day to look for color all around you. Maybe it's the blue of the sky, or the vibrant color of a person's coat. Living in the moment grounds us and helps restore our energy.
Please share in comments: Look straight ahead and tell me the color that caught your eye and what or who that color is on.
I can't wait for the seasons to finally change and I can get my true fall on at home and here on the blog. I was looking through some past fall photos and found this beautiful metal Sunflower and just loved the perfect cocoa brown center, so it became my inspiration for this months color!
Here is my Pinterest board for some Cocoa brown inspiration to help you "Fall" in love with this color too. I hope you enjoy it.
One of the easiest and often prettiest ways I've found to lighten and brighten our home is with decorative glass items. My husband and I are both drawn to unique glass pieces, so you'll find of lot of it in our home. June's color of the month- Turquoise, was inspired by some of my favorite bottles and vases.
The wonderful thing about the color Turquoise is how each piece is unique in color depending on the light and the material. Some pieces look bluer, some pieces, greener. Yet all of them beckon you to dream of water and warm days.
Here's my Pinterest board for more inspiration and ideas on how to decorate your home and your life with this beautiful color.
Happy warm summer days everyone!

Spring might have officially arrived on March 20th, but in my mind spring really arrives when the final threat of a freeze comes and goes. Here in middle Tennessee that's early April. I know it's really spring when my Lilacs bloom! So to honor spring and my dear departed Grandma who always allowed me to play and pick her Lilacs to my hearts content- I give you April's color of the month!
Here's a picture of one of my Lilac Bushes.

Color of the Month March 2015- Emerald Green
in accessories, color, design, Emerald Green, fashion, landscapes, spring, by Linda A Kinsman, Monday, March 09, 2015
Spring will arrive in just 10 short days! I can’t wait for the world to awaken all around us in varying shades of beautiful, lush greens. In honor of this season, I chose Emerald Green as March’s color of the month. Not only will this color be seen in our landscapes- we will be seeing it in our wardrobes and homes as well. Dark green is having a moment this spring and I say embrace it and welcome Emerald Green into your life.
And here's my Pinterest board for the month. I hope you like it and will be inspired to add Emerald Green to your world this spring.
Please share in comments: Do you own anything Emerald
Green? If so, what is it? I have jewelry, because Emerald's are my
birthstone.
Colors play such an important role in our daily lives. I thought this would be a fun and creative way to share my love of colors with you. Each month, I'll choose a color that reflects the month's mood or theme as I see it. I'll set up a monthly Pinterest board and share it here with you, my awesome readers.
This months color pick is Ice Blue.
I've started the board and will add more pictures of this color all month. Got a pin or picture, you'd like me to add? Let me know in comments or catch up with me on Pinterest!
Please share in comments: Look at my 4 photo collage above and tell me which photo you would most likely re-pin and why.
We’re starting our home improvement projects, and I’ve
discovered an app to help us choose just the right colors for each room: ColorSnap by Sherwin-Williams. This app allows
you to make color palettes based on Sherwin Williams paint colors.
When you open the app, it brings you to the main menu, where
you can choose how you want to make a color palette. One way to do it is to
take a picture of an object with a color you like, for instance the pretty blue
on the birdhouse below. Choose “Snap New
Photo”. Then, you can take a picture with your phone’s camera. Or, if you
already have a previously taken picture in mind, choose “Use Saved Photo”.
Once you’ve taken the picture, the app will ask you to crop
the photo so it’s small enough to use.
Then, you can move your cursor around and pinpoint the
color(s) in the picture that you liked and wanted to use in your palette.
The app can choose coordinating colors to go with the color
you’ve chosen.
You can also create color palettes by looking through
Sherwin-Williams’ complete collection of paint colors. To do this, choose
“Explore Color” on the main menu.
Once you find a color that you like, you can click on it and
have the app choose two coordinating colors for it. You can also continue to browse through the colors and
create your own.
If you like the palette, you can save it, and even adjust
the colors you’ve chosen for variations on the original.
ColorSnap can help you create color schemes for one wall to
a whole house, and it’s a lot of fun to play with and save your color ideas.
(Saved palettes can be accessed when you choose “Saved Colors”).
And, when
you’re ready to buy your saved paint colors, you can click “Find Store” to
locate your nearest Sherwin-Williams location.
While we haven’t narrowed down which of our color palettes
to use, we are having fun creating ideas.
Want to give this app a try? It’s available on the iTunes App Store for
Apple devices and Google Play for Androids.
My oldest daughter assisted with the research and writing of this post and is looking forward to helping with more Slap 'Appy posts.
