I was sharing with my daughter Melissa that I wanted to
learn how to take better flat lay photos like hers recently, when she said she
would be happy to teach me by showing me how. I’m so stoked to be working with
her because she slays flat lay photography and is on top of all things beauty
and fashion. We’ve decided to do a new blog series together called All My
Favorite Things. Welcome to the February Edition, we hope you like it.

Back to school outfits for Moms
in accessories, apparel, back to school, blouses, collections, fashion, moms, shoes, shorts, by Linda A Kinsman, Tuesday, August 25, 2015
School has been in session here for two and half weeks and the long, hot August days feel never ending. I was sharing with my daughters how I wished I could pull together some more "back to school" outfits for myself quickly. That's when my stylish teen daughter Melissa, set to work on Polyvore curating some lovely sets for me. She did such a great job, I asked her to make her collection available for my readers.
By Melissa Kinsman:
When the kids go
back to school, it can be stressful for everyone. This year, moms should shop
for their back-to-school wardrobes, too! We have put
together some super-cute and functional outfits we think you will love!
Outfit one:
Where we live, school
starts in August, and it’s very hot. So,
shorts are a great way to keep cool. These Bermuda shorts are the perfect
length for moms. Yellow is a great summer color and the lace adds a very
sophisticated and grown up feel to the shirt. These Wedged sandals are super
cute and grown up. Every mom needs a big purse, and this black, leather one
will hold everything you need.
Outfit two:
Jeans rolled up as
Capri's are a great way to use jeans in every season. Keds are a preppy tennis
shoe alternative. The Solid tank gives you lots of opportunity to dress up with
a fun jacket, or (like we did) add some bling! A nude tote adds elegance to a
casual-chic outfit. If these colors are too dark for you, jeans go great with
any color, you could wear a bright color and go light on accessories or you can
add a patterned scarf to the dark tank top.
Outfit 3:
A soft denim,
drawstring skirt gives you the comfy feel of sweats, rising just above knee
length it’s very appropriate for a school event. The baby doll top is a great
cut for any body type. While being a bit shapeless it doesn’t appear boxy on
anyone and it can hide a muffin top. We loved this one because it’s supper
affordable and comes with your super cute bling! The flats add a really cute
touch, but a nice nude wedge or strappy sandal would look really good too! We
loved this tote it added a nice beachy feel to the outfit!
If you'd like to learn more about the items in my sets, please visit me on Polyvore and follow my Mom, Linda there too!

Color of the Month March 2015- Emerald Green
in accessories, color, design, Emerald Green, fashion, landscapes, spring, by Linda A Kinsman, Monday, March 09, 2015
Spring will arrive in just 10 short days! I can’t wait for the world to awaken all around us in varying shades of beautiful, lush greens. In honor of this season, I chose Emerald Green as March’s color of the month. Not only will this color be seen in our landscapes- we will be seeing it in our wardrobes and homes as well. Dark green is having a moment this spring and I say embrace it and welcome Emerald Green into your life.
And here's my Pinterest board for the month. I hope you like it and will be inspired to add Emerald Green to your world this spring.

Green? If so, what is it? I have jewelry, because Emerald's are my
birthstone.
Fighting global hunger, one belt at a time #MissionBelt
in accessories, fashion, help end, hunger, mens belts, mission, poverty, by Linda A Kinsman, Tuesday, November 18, 2014
Imagine buying a belt, an everyday wardrobe essential for
most men and having a dollar go to help end global hunger and poverty. You’d feel pretty good about buying that belt
wouldn’t you?
That’s why I was so happy to partner with The Brand Connection when they asked their team of bloggers if we’d
like to receive a complimentary Mission belt to try and share our thoughts.
Since my husband had just mentioned he needed a new belt, I signed up. All opinions are my own and those of my husband, who is wearing his Mission Belt in the photo below.
About Mission Belt Company:
Mission Belt Co. was founded in 2012 and is
based in Utah. If the name sounds familiar, you may have saw it on Shark Tank. Their missions: to make world-class, no-hole
leather belts and to help end global hunger and poverty, one belt and one
dollar at a time.
Those are powerful words, especially at this time of year
when so many are struggling with the very real choice of buying enough food, or
warming their homes. The Mission Belt story is an interesting one that you can
read by visiting their website.
What makes Mission Belts Different?
- No holes- Say goodbye to stretched out, ugly holes in your belts.
- Perfect Fit- Mission belts adjust every ¼” instead of every inch like traditional belts.
- No cracks- Mission belts have a no-crack guarantee on their leather belts.
- Always fits- Mission belts are easily adjustable with just a few clicks of the levered buckle.
- Easy on and off- The lever on their belts works smoothly, allowing you to take off this belt in a hurry.
Our Thoughts:
Ordering just the right look and size of belt needed for my
husband was very easy on Mission Belt’s website. My husband chose the IRON
buckle with black leather. He was very
impressed with the quality of leather Mission Belt uses.
He easily adjusted the
length of his belt and once he got the hang of how the buckle and toggle system
worked, he found this belt to be much easier to use than traditional belts he’d
grown accustomed to using.
My husband wears this belt all the time. It pairs well with
his everyday jeans and looks dressy enough for him to pair it with slacks. He’s
hooked on this easy on and off belt life and does highly recommend it, because a good fitting, high quality belt is hard to find!
If
you think the man in your life would like to give the no-holes, easy on and off
belt life a try, I invite you to visit Mission Belt Company’s website or get
social with them on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
