Winter has us in its grip this week and has covered a large portion of the US in snow and ice, so to combat the bad weather, I’m focusing on the fun of Valentine’s day gift giving! With Halloween right around the corner, I was excited to learn about the new original animated film Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo, from Warner Brothers Home Entertainment. I grew up watching everyone’s favorite mystery solving gang, so I happily agreed to share this new film with you to keep the love of Scooby and the gang alive.
We kicked off September with a fun and tasty Labor Day BBQ and my mouth is still watering over the perfection of our meal. My husband, master griller and smoker of meats, pulled out all the stops by smoking up a tasty beef rope sausage from Southside Market and Barbeque out of Texas and a brisket we bought locally. Happy Fall my friends! I simply adore this season for so many reasons. The crisp mornings, being able to turn off the AC and open up all the windows in my home to welcome in all that fresh air goodness, settling into a more home-centric routine, and of course- baking! I’ve already started my baking season off on the right foot by baking up a batch of tasty cast iron skillet butter-topped drop biscuits and I wanted to share the recipe with you. These were some of the easiest biscuits I’ve ever made.

When I saw an email regarding Thomas the Tank Engine in my inbox, I opened it immediately. My family have been Thomas fans for almost 20 years now!
