I’ve been spending more time offline this month to refresh and recharge my creativity and I feel like it’s helped tremendously. I have lots of fresh new content ideas I can’t wait to share with you, starting with this tasty post on how to create an Italian Charcuterie board that’s perfect for summer meals.

It’s been an annual Mother’s Day tradition that my daughters make me brunch. Until they were teens, my husband was there to help, but now he’s in charge of fresh ground and brewed coffee and if I want, a cocktail after we eat, so when Tina’s Vodka asked if I’d like to try their organic Vodka I said of course! Below are two simple Lemonade Cocktails for Mother’s Day and beyond.

Every year I make a plan so that I won’t be rushing around shopping for a last minute gift or two, and every year, without fail, I find myself in need of a last minute gift that doesn’t scream I bought this last minute! Sound familiar?

Do you need a gift for a thoughtful coworker who just handed you a wonderful gift? Or maybe your Uncle decided he would come to the family function after all?  No matter the reason, it’s five days until Christmas and you need an awesome gift now! Here’s a tasty last minute gift idea for cocktail lovers sure to not be re-gifted. You order online and let the subscription boxes work their magic.

There’s just a few days until Thanksgiving and I’m putting the final touches on my shopping list, which as most home cooks and hostesses will tell you is where a great holiday meal gets its start. For holiday meals, you’ll have to think of every detail from the drinks to the linen. It’s a lot to be sure, but I’m here to help you ease some of the stress. Thanks to Southside Market & Barbeque, you’ll be able to serve up smiles with a pre-cooked smoked turkey breast this holiday season.

We kicked off September with a fun and tasty Labor Day BBQ and my mouth is still watering over the perfection of our meal. My husband, master griller and smoker of meats, pulled out all the stops by smoking up a tasty beef rope sausage from Southside Market and Barbeque out of Texas and a brisket we bought locally. If meat is a love language for you too, you’ll want to read on.

Friday Five: Fun Foods for Summer

in , , , , , by Linda A Kinsman, Friday, June 10, 2022

As a blogger and digital content creator, I have the opportunity to try lots of new products that might not normally show up on my shopping radar. June has been bountiful in this department, so I thought it would be fun to start a new (to me) blog series Friday Five! Each month I’ll share five new products I think would be helpful to you as well. This month’s Friday Five is fun foods for summer. I hope you enjoy this new series and these product recommendations.

For all who celebrated Easter,  I hope you had a wonderful day. Easter to me, is the beginning of the spring get together season. From Easter dinner, to simple family movie and game nights to pot-luck family style dinners, this is the season to welcome all to our home.

One way I love to welcome my family and friends here in any season, but especially now, is with the delightful aroma of fresh baked bread, but with warmer weather calling me outdoors, I can’t always find the time to make our family favorite, sourdough bread from scratch. Thankfully, I’ve found the perfect Sourdough Bread Delivery Subscription box for Mother's Day and beyond.

I like having snack options on hand for each member of my family, which has to include single serve, grab- and- go options. More often than not, these snacks have to fulfill more than one craving as well. For instance, I keep beef jerky on hand for my husband who loves a salty/chewy treat, while my daughters and I prefer sweet and salty snacks. Are you a fan of yummy sweet and salty snacks as well? I’ve got two you’ll want to try then!

Last month I had the opportunity to try and new to me soup company and I’m still eating and loving their soups.  I've been raving about them on my socials, so naturally, I wanted to share this amazing soup with you here on the blog. I know there are lots of busy Moms here with younger kids and tight schedules, who more often than not, eat a quick bite here and there. Today, I’d like to offer you a way to upgrade your at home lunch with a healthy, heat and eat bagged soup. It is a game changer!

Happy first Friday of February friends! I’ve had a very productive week, which means most days I was eating lunch on the fly and grazing my way through the afternoon until I’d cook and eat a proper dinner. Do you know those kinds of busy days where you eat a hand full of almonds here, and an apple there? I decided today I was going to treat myself to a proper lunch, so I used the leftovers from last night and made a Roasted Red Pepper BLT Wraps for a quick lunch. It was so, so good! I want to share this simple lunch idea with you and give you a chance to win some wraps too.

Since I work at home, most of my lunches are eaten solo and mainly consist of either leftovers, or something quick and simple like yogurt and granola and a piece of fruit. However, yesterday my daughter and I decided to treat ourselves to a hearty lunch by making sourdough bacon pepper jack and cheddar cheese panini’s served with a warm bowl of tomato soup and I must say, the food and her company were a delightful change of pace! Another great thing about this lunch? We had tasty sourdough bread from the freezer to table in under 30 minutes.

Happy Fall my friends! I simply adore this season for so many reasons. The crisp mornings, being able to turn off the AC and open up all the windows in my home to welcome in all that fresh air goodness, settling into a more home-centric routine, and of course- baking! I’ve already started my baking season off on the right foot by baking up a batch of tasty cast iron skillet butter-topped drop biscuits and I wanted to share the recipe with you. These were some of the easiest biscuits I’ve ever made.

Happy Earth day! Over the years, I’ve written several blog posts to share how my family honors our earth by showcasing what we are planting or events we’ll be attending. There are many resources available on the EarthDay.org site and I hope you’ll visit and find a way to plug in and help where you are. This year, I’m focusing on shining a light of food resources and farms that are doing their part to help stop food scarcity. One such company is Nature’s Path Organic Foods, so I made Sunrise vanilla yogurt bowls to celebrate Earth day and to share a little more about Nature’s Path and their recent annual Gardens for Good Program.

Quick & Easy Grilled Chicken Flatbread Sandwich

in , , , , , , by Linda A Kinsman, Friday, March 26, 2021
As the days grow longer and warmer, my idea of a perfect lunch is evolving. I’m wanting lots of fruits and veggies and a heart grained bread for a sandwich or as a side to soup just feels too heavy now that spring has officially arrived. Recently, I found the answer when I was asked if I’d like to try Atoria’s Family Bakery mini flatbread with whole grain and flax seeds. I made a quick and easy grilled chicken flatbread sandwich that was so good, I wanted to share it with you in case you are wanting a lighter lunch as well.

My thanks to Atoria's Family Bakery for the complimentary flatbread showcased in today's post. No other compensation given. All opinions are my own.

Are there NFL football fans in your family? My husband and I are fans of the game and always root on the home team, which for us is the Tennessee Titans. Our Titans did so well this year, that it was a sad moment when we lost last Sunday’s game. At least we have the Superbowl on February 7th to look forward to. We’ll be tuning in to and partaking in all the game day fun even if our team isn’t playing. To us, and most fans, it’s just not game day if you don’t have food and snacks! Thanks to today’s sponsor, Sugar Plum Chocolates, I’ll be serving up gourmet nuts and cookies which make perfect game day snacks.
