Hello June and hello summer gardening chores! From pulling weeds, to mowing, to trimming trees, my husband and I are working outside to spruce up our landscape most every weekend now. I love living this semi-rural lifestyle, but trust me when I say, there is a lot of hard work and upkeep involved and more often than not, our hard work has us both saying we have a backache by the end of the day. It would only take you a minute in our kitchen to know foodies live here. Our cabinets are full of seasonings, varieties of salts and peppers, dried herbs and so on. If you look in our fridge and pantry, you’ll find lots of condiments and sauces sorted (usually) by cuisine. My husband and I love to cook! Happy Earth day! Over the years, I’ve written several blog posts to share how my family honors our earth by showcasing what we are planting or events we’ll be attending. There are many resources available on the EarthDay.org site and I hope you’ll visit and find a way to plug in and help where you are. This year, I’m focusing on shining a light of food resources and farms that are doing their part to help stop food scarcity. Are there NFL football fans in your family? My husband and I are fans of the game and always root on the home team, which for us is the Tennessee Titans. Our Titans did so well this year, that it was a sad moment when we lost last Sunday’s game. At least we have the Superbowl on February 7th to look forward to. It’s the most wonderful time of the year my friends. The holidays are finally here, and for some of us, that means gift crunch time! Happy November! As I sit here typing up this post, the weather outside is anything but frightful. In fact, it’s going to be 75 and sunny all weekend long! We are gearing up to have a fun family style Halloween at home this year, so we’ve been planning dinner, snacks, and drink options.
