I’ve been a part-time freelancer for several years now and I speak from that experience when I say; the ability to get good gigs in my industry (blogging and brand awareness) is getting harder and harder each day as more people enter the workforce and embrace the “gig economy”. Seeing more and more marketing pros talk about multiple streams of income and what “side hustle” you may be able to pick up to achieve financial security led me to agree to review The Gig Is Up: Thrive in the Gig Economy, Where Old Jobs Are Obsolete and Freelancing Is the Future by Olga Mizrahi.
Happy Friday everyone! It is indeed a happy Friday for me as I write my first post for my newest ambassadorship with Biz Stain Fighter. I do a lot of laundry around here and I know you do too, so I’m excited about sharing this great cleaning product with you. If you don’t know about the line of Biz Stain Fighter products, or maybe need a refresher, please read on. I’ll be sharing a coupon as well.
Have you ever been awakened to the delightful scent of freshly brewed coffee? It’s a delightful way to start your day. I have so many good memories surrounding that smell. From my childhood with my parent's brew to today, where my husband and I take turns making special coffee on the weekends. What makes it special you ask? Freshly ground beans! My husband and I have been sipping coffee together for a long time, we are true coffee lovers. One of our favorite hobbies as a couple is trying new coffee blends and ways in which to brew it. I love gifting him gifting him coffee related items, so when an opportunity from Coastal Brew arrived in my inbox, I thought this non-electric manual coffee grinder is perfect for my husband!
Fantastic hunger relief scholars program for teens
in #AD, FamilyLife, food, hunger, program, relief, scholar, sustainable, teen, water, by Linda A Kinsman, Monday, February 12, 2018
Food and water, two resources most of us in America; especially in suburbia, take for granted. I know that I do. Turning on the tap for clean water, or opening my pantry for food is something I’m so accustomed to doing; I’ve become spoiled. Sure, my family and I give to our local food pantries, Goodwill store, and local shelter and we do our best not to waste water by turning off taps and conserving water when gardening, but there is so much more we can and should do to help protect our natural resources and help end hunger. I’m thrilled to partner with General Mills on their hunger relief scholars program for teens today. I think it’s a fantastic program! If you have teens, please read on!
Be Prepared- Flu may strike you or a loved one
in #AD, be prepared, care, coughs, FamilyLife, flu, help, Loved One, TLC, by Linda A Kinsman, Tuesday, February 06, 2018
With six more weeks of winter to go, we all must take every precaution to keep ourselves and our families well since the flu shows no signs of slowing down. This strain is nothing to trifle with as reports of hospitalizations and sadly, even deaths are on the evening news day after day.
I’ve already succumbed to this nasty virus around Christmas time so I can attest to this virus’ strength. I was lucky I didn’t have to be hospitalized, so I was only too happy to partner with Mucinex and help spread the word about their maximum strength products. Stocking up on these products now will help you be prepared in case flu strikes you or a loved one.

February has finally arrived, which is cause for celebration for so many of us. There is just so much to look forward to and celebrate this month. For those fortunate enough to live in warmer regions, you may start feeling the call of spring by the end of this month. Then there’s love to celebrate in its many forms on Valentine’s Day and a whole new line up of drivers will be greeting us at Nascar's Daytona 500 on the 18th. Today though, we are talking about appetizers for the BIG GAME! Are you ready for some football this Sunday? Here are some tasty crowd-pleasing Jalapeno Cheddar Bacon wafers we whipped up recently that are a perfect game day appetizer.

Wordless Wednesday: Cat Eyes
in cat, cat family, Eyes, green eyes, pets, wordless wednesday, by Linda A Kinsman, Wednesday, January 31, 2018
I struggle with having enough variety in my morning breakfast choices because I’m not a fan of traditional breakfast foods. Eggs? No way. Waffles? I’ll be hungry again in ten minutes. I’ll admit, sometimes I’ve skipped breakfast altogether, powering through on coffee alone. We all know just how unhealthy that is and I didn’t want to continue this in 2018.
I’ve always liked Granola, so when I received an email about reviewing KitchFix Grain-Free Paleo Granola, I was intrigued. I thought perhaps incorporating more Paleo-friendly food into my morning routine would be just the thing I need to get me back in the habit of eating breakfast.
This is a sponsored post for KitchFix. I received the products mentioned in today's post as a thank you for my time. No further compensation was given. All opinions are my own.
About KitchFix and CEO Chef Josh:
I love trying new products, especially small businesses that got their start from a desire to help others and to serve their communities. That’s what I found when I visited the KitchFix website. I really liked what I learned. KitchFix CEO Chef Josh states that they are committed to using the best, most flavorful ingredients, and raising the standard on healthy snacks.
I enjoyed reading how KitchFix got its start in Chicago when Chef Josh took his desire to help clients feed their bodies well.
“Chef Josh has always loved making people’s lives healthier and happier with great-tasting food. As a personal chef to clients overcoming cancer, he began exploring the healing power of food. He followed an anti-inflammatory, nutrient-dense cooking plan that avoided common allergens like dairy and gluten to ensure his clients’ bodies were thriving from the food they ate.”
About Grain-Free Paleo Granola:
According to their website, this is the combination that started it all - the original Grain-Free Paleo Granola. They slow-roast a core blend of nuts and seeds to perfection in coconut oil with cinnamon, sea salt and just a touch of pure maple syrup. Then, they top it off with plump Thompson raisins and coconut flakes to create our savory Original Mix. They left out Gluten, grain, dairy, and refined sugars, leaving only healthy, delicious, Paleo granola.
I absolutely LOVE this blend on Greek yogurt. I add a piece of fruit and this tasty breakfast stays with me for hours. I’m not hungry for over 4 hours. My family loves it too, preferring to eat it by the handful as a quick snack.
About Grain-Free Paleo Honey Pecan Granola:
KitchFix says when they came up with our Grain-Free Paleo Honey Pecan Granola; they wanted to make every bite taste like fresh pecan pie. With a mixture of crunchy pecans and other nuts and seeds sweetened with natural honey, pure maple syrup and just a touch of cinnamon, it truly does taste as good as a slice of pecan pie. This is a perfect on the go granola snack too. My husband loves it because it’s so full of nuts, it doesn’t feel or taste like any granola he’s ever had.
Our Thoughts:
We give these two Paleo Grain-Free Granola’s two thumbs up! Way, way up! I will definitely purchase them for us in the future. You can learn more about their granola ingredients, other flavors, and products and use their store locator by visiting KitchFix .
Win It:
Thanks to today’s sponsor, KitchFix, one lucky reader will win two bags of KitchFix Paleo Grain-Free Granola. Entering is easy using the entry form below. No purchase is necessary.
Good luck!
Please share in comments: Which of these two granola flavors would you try first if you won?
Hello and happy fourth Wednesday of January! If you’ve followed my blog for a while, you know I normally like to post a Wordless Wednesday post featuring some of my nature pics like last week’s post here. I’ve done that for years and honestly, it’s high time I shook things up here on My WAHM Plan, so once a month I'm going to share a WAHM Tip!
I want to offer helpful content for busy work at home Moms (or Moms who would like to be), so I brainstormed ideas and one kept rising to the top. Go back to basics of this blog and start sharing work at home tips I've learned in my almost 19 year’s experience as a WAHM. I feel this year is the perfect time to start sharing my knowledge with more and more Moms look for ways to add additional income.

Pretty and Fresh Makeup look with Neutrogena

Having teen daughters is fun and challenging and oh, so rewarding. I look at them and see parts of me interspersed here and there with their own unique personalities and styles. Both daughters got their love of makeup straight from me, but Melissa must have got in that line twice! From a very early age, she has loved playing with makeup. Once we gave her permission to wear makeup, she was in heaven and quickly mastered makeup application and techniques.
Noelle by Greg Kincaid Book Review
in AD, book review, books, Christmas, dogs, family, Greg Kincaid, Noelle, by Linda A Kinsman, Thursday, January 11, 2018
I normally wouldn’t start a book series with the last book, but I did just that last month when on a whim, I received an email from Blogging for Books about of Noelle by Greg Kincaid. I had never heard of the McCray family, the cornerstone of a series of novels by Mr. Kincaid, but when I saw the snowy scene and the adorable little dog on the cover of Noelle, I was drawn in.
I adore January for a multitude of reasons. My youngest daughter was born this month. Linens and home goods are on sale this month. I get to plan and organize a lot of things in January. Filling out new calendars and planners for the year is time well spent in my opinion. As I was organizing my stack of planners and notebooks, I noticed I had several craft and hobby books I needed to find a home for as well. That’s when I realized that unless I made time to be creative this month (and every month of the year), I would need to block out time to allow myself to enjoy hobbies and creative endeavors. January is the perfect time to be creative! Dust off one of your hobbies, or start a new one. Read on for some creative ideas.
Tips to help ease the stress of family caregiving
in #AD, caregivers, family, FamilyLife, Sam's Club #FamilyCaregiving Program, shopping, stress, tips, by Linda A Kinsman, Thursday, December 28, 2017
This Christmas was hard. I was really sick with the flu and I had to rely on my husband and daughters to do the lion’s share of holiday preparations. When you are so sick you can do little more than take medicine, rest and accept the loving help your family is providing; you have a lot of time to pray and reflect on your life and the year coming to an end. One of the greatest sorrows of 2017 was losing my mother in law. Not having her sweet presence with us this Christmas was a challenge. She was missed! I feel like I honor her by sharing today's tips. They come from personal experience of helping my family navigate the stresses and challenges of family caregiving while we helped care for my mother in law before her passing earlier this year.

I want to do my part to extend these feelings to other families, especially children by partnering with World Vison’s Shine Bright the World needs you program to help spread hope this holiday season. I snapped this photo last winter and I remember feeling so blessed and thankful for my life. I want to spread that kind of love and cheer from my little corner of the web today!

Happy belated National Cookie Day! I hope you enjoyed baking and eating a variety of cookies yesterday, just like I did. Since we are in the beginning of the holiday baking season, I thought I’d try my hand at making some gluten-free cookies for my family and friends who need this option. While these cookies are semi-homemade; I was delighted with the way they turned out and so was my family. They couldn’t wait to try them when they got home since the heavenly scent of fresh baked treats greeted them at the door.
The happiest time of the year is upon us and I am ready to enjoy
all the magic filled events I can with family and friends. This is the time of year to say yes to party
invitations, whether it’s a bonfire (our personal favorite thing to host), a
cozy potluck, or an afternoon filled with rooting on the home team either at
home or tailgating. You really should say yes more to this kind of fellowship,
even if it’s a spur of the moment invite. Don’t worry about what to bring! Tis
the season to serve up smiles with readymade appetizers like the delicious
party trays from HORMEL GATHERINGS.

On a hot summer day, I received an unexpected package that contained a book and a tee-shirt that changed my way of looking at situations for the better. You see, the fates smiled upon me and I had received a complimentary hardbound copy of WONDER- a New York Times bestseller book by R.J. Palacio and the softest t-shirt on behalf of Lionsgate. My special thanks to them for that package and the surprise Halloween goodies as well. If you haven’t met and been moved by Auggie Pullman yet, read on to learn about the book and the movie WONDER! All opinions expressed are 100% my own.

Scary movies abound this time of year with Halloween rapidly approaching. I'm not much for gore and guts, preferring a more Hocus Pocus style of movie and I know I'm not alone in my desire to laugh more and scream less. I think laughing truly is one of life's best medicine's and that's what makes Tyler Perry's Boo! movies such a hit. I'm excited to partner with today's sponsor to offer up this fun Boo 2!A Madea Halloween movie swag prize pack for those of us who love to laugh!

I think you are going to like the movie I’m getting ready to tell you about since it’s since it features both Renee Zellweger and Greg Kinnear. I think we will remember them as Ron and Debbie Hall after watching Same Kind of different as me in theaters starting October 20, 2017.

Color of the Month- October 2017 -Raven Black
in #Halloween, black, cats, Color of the month, decor, inspiration, raven, by Linda A Kinsman, Monday, October 02, 2017
Happy October everyone! September flew by in a blur of activities and I never got my September color of the month blog post up. I feel bad about missing it, but in all honesty, I was so burned out (see last post here), that I wasn't sure if I even wanted to post these anymore. Then, a magical thing happened over the weekend- my inbox overflowed with positive "bloggy" things and I had to make the decision to sulk and give up on blogging, or suck it up and come back swinging. I chose the latter. So, without further ado, I wanted to get my color of the month post up ASAP so I can add to it (and so can you!) all month.
For October, I was inspired by all the pretty Raven black I've been seeing everywhere, including both my cats! While they aren't full raven black cats, they both have the prettiest black fur!
Normally on a Wednesday, I would be sharing a Wordless Wednesday post showcasing what I’m enjoying in my life. From felines to flowers, I’ve done a lot of WW sharing over the last seven years. Wordless Wednesday: Fall Flowers
in Daisy, fall, flowers, Garden, Mums, wildflowers, wordless wednesday, by Linda A Kinsman, Wednesday, September 13, 2017
There is no mistaking the beauty and allure of a vibrant
Chrysanthemum this time of year. They can
be found everywhere from nurseries, to farms markets and even school
fundraisers have Mums for sale and I am a willing buyer. Mums are one of the
few flowers that can be both annuals and perennials depending on what variety
you buy. If I’m lucky enough to find “hardy Mums” the perennial variety, I’ll
plant them in my flower beds this month. If I find annuals, they will go in
containers. In order to have more variety in my garden this fall, I wanted to
grow beyond Mums and found three plants perfect for fall planting I’d like to
share with you today.

Happy Friday and happy September everyone! September is a month of promise and new beginnings for me. We have settled into our school routines, the weather will finally turn cooler and I start my fall busy work schedule. Actually, this blog will turn 7 years old later this month. That is worth celebrating!
With all the positives in this month, there is one event that I will never forget- September 11, 2001. I was at home with my two year old daughter when my husband called to tell me the news. I was stunned and horrified and scared, right along with the rest of America. We will always remember 9/11!
I happily teamed up with TetherGroup to bring you this amazing giveaway today. I will receive the prize pack offered in the giveaway to thank me for my time. No other compensation given. All opinions are my own.

Send college kids care packages that nourishes body and soul
in AD, care package, college, FamilyLife, love, students, support., by Linda A Kinsman, Friday, August 25, 2017
August is a bittersweet month for families with college bound kids. While we are extremely proud of their hard work and scholastic accomplishments that got them accepted into their college of choice; the thought of actually leaving our kids in a dorm room can be heart-wrenching.
We moved our daughter to a local university campus two weeks ago and I’m still adjusting to not having her sweet presence at home every night! I know that we are lucky to have her attend a local college, but like many parents, we were searching for a way to offer our support and encouragement in a tangible way and I found it with SoulFeed. Read on to discover how you can send care packages that nourish body and soul.
We did a lot of back to school and dorm room shopping over the last few weeks, which led to my color of the month post being shared a little later than I wanted. The upside is I discovered the perfect color of the month to share because we saw it everywhere! From velveteen throw pillows to cute dresses, a deep, rich, warm and inviting Burgundy has me longing for crisp fall days.
Is your skin feeling the effects of summer heat? If you live someplace that's hot (and most all of us do now that it's August), it may be time to change up your beauty and skincare routine. During the summer, I find myself using fewer products and spending less time primping and prepping. In fact, if you were to drop by my house, you’d most likely find me running around barefaced. Letting your skin breath is the first step to a better beauty day, the second is to pick multi-tasking products that are easy to use. Burt’s Bees + Grove Collaborative make it easy to find fuss-free natural products.
Happy August and happy Wordless Wednesday! This post isn't going to be wordless though, since it needs a little explanation. Since I've been on a summer schedule here on the blog, posting about once a week, I thought it would be fun to show you what I've been doing offline besides being with my family.
Ah, summer, how we love you! The season full of family traditions like road trips and sleeping in since there’s no school; eating ripe, juicy, summer fruits that drip down your chin and eating out instead of cooking in a hot kitchen. Recently when we got hungry for a good home-style meal we didn’t have to cook, we headed to our local Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen to let them do the cooking while we cooled off.
Happy Saturday readers! Someday's are just too hot to be outside for long now that we've reached the dog days of summer. Why not stay cool inside and check out some cool shows on Netflix? Don't have it you say? Well today is your lucky day then. I've partnered up with a great group of bloggers to bring you this awesome giveaway for 6 months of Netflix! That will help you beat summer boredom.
