Take me to an office supply store or let me shop online for organization tools and I am in my happy place. There is no way I can do my work as a blogger without at least one planner. Most years I have two, along with pads of paper, notebooks to write ideas down, file folders to organize my home office and good pens.  Imagine my absolute delight when I got word that I was going to receive a box full of goodies from the new Erin Condren Focused Collection! The word FOCUS spoke to me, because I had just been talking about taking something off my plate starting now, in the fourth quarter of 2020, so I could focus on organization, blog work and more with the new streamlined planners and tools by Erin Condren.

Happy Friday, friends, and welcome to my January reset edition of Friday faves. We’re nine days into the new year, and I’ve spent the majority of those days offline resetting our home. Once the Christmas decorations are down and stored away for the year, I get busy. I enjoy cleaning, organizing, and adding decor to freshen up our home. Here’s what I’ve been enjoying so far this year.

Friday Faves- January Reset

Friday Faves January Edition

Happy Valentine’s Day to all who celebrate it! This year, it’s just my husband and I celebrating now that we’re empty nesters. Our youngest daughter moved out just before Thanksgiving. I’m still adjusting to this new normal, which has had some ups and downs. One of the downs is I’ve been in a bit of a creative rut. When I read a friend's blog post this morning with this fun writing prompt, I knew it was just the thing to spark my creativity. I’m joining Mix and Match Mama and her monthly writing prompts where we share little peaks into our lives.

Let’s Look at the Little Things We Do Every Single Day!

Happy March and happy Friday! It’s the 60th day of the year and only 20 days until spring begins, so you may be thinking it’s too late in the year to start a new planner, but I say every single day is a fresh, new opportunity to move forward toward your goals! I was recently invited to review the 2019 Inkberry planner and host a giveaway for you today. I can’t think of a better way to help you stay organized and productive all year by offering you a chance to win an Inkberry Planner.

Take time to be creative this month

in , , , , , , , , by Linda A Kinsman, Wednesday, January 03, 2018
I adore January for a multitude of reasons. My youngest daughter was born this month.  Linens and home goods are on sale this month. I get to plan and organize a lot of things in January. Filling out new calendars and planners for the year is time well spent in my opinion. As I was organizing my stack of planners and notebooks, I noticed I had several craft and hobby books I needed to find a home for as well. That’s when I realized that unless I made time to be creative this month (and every month of the year), I would need to block out time to allow myself to enjoy hobbies and creative endeavors.  January is the perfect time to be creative! Dust off one of your hobbies, or start a new one. Read on for some creative ideas.

We have finally reached November, and with that we welcome in the holiday season. For most of us, that means GO time. We take out our planners and phones and we start juggling. We vow that this year, we will wag more, and bark less! We promise we will be one cool-as-a-cucumber, organized lady from now until New Year’s Day! And then reality sets in and we start to feel a little less confident in our superwoman capabilities! Even more so if we have LBL (light bladder leakage), which can cause an entirely different type of stress altogether.

This is a sponsored post for Acorn Influence. All opinions are my own.

Maximize shopping trips list

I’ve touched on LBL a time or two in the past here on my blog because I feel it is such an important topic that shouldn’t be taboo. Over the course of this year, I’ve experienced LBL while doing strenuous gardening, to my dismay, and also when making myself wait too long to find a restroom. I kept telling myself, I’ll get just one more item off my list and then I’ll break for the bathroom. Sound familiar?

One shopping trip to @Walmart and I'm done! #ad #PoiseLinerLove

Since then, I’ve devised a new way of shopping. Armed with my master shopping list (that my family helps keep current), I decide what local store would have most, if not all, of the items on that list. More often than not, I find myself shopping at my local Walmart. Not only does most Walmart’s have two convenient bathrooms at the front and rear of the store; I love that I can pick up lettuce for a salad, boot socks for the kids, a holiday card and my newest accessory, Poise Microliners, all in one shopping trip.

Another tip I’ve started implementing is writing out my shopping list in the order I’ll find products in the store. So worth the prep time when you don’t have to walk all the way through a store again for a forgotten item! That’s saves me time, which helps me be stress-free

Ladies, if you are starting to experience occasional LBL like I am ‒ it’s time for you to make the switch from your regular pantyliner to Poise Microliners. The lightest absorbency liners are just as thin as my regular brand of pantyliner, and just as cost-effective. I got this two-month-supply box at my local Walmart for $4.68. I found the liners on the top shelf, but you’ll see the whole line of Poise near the feminine care aisle.

Make the switch to #PoiseLinerLove @Walmart #ad

One thing I noticed right away when I made the switch was I couldn’t feel a difference at all! Poise liners have thin-flex technology, so they move with your body and they stay put in your underwear, too. They offer 3-in-1 protection: dryness, comfort, and odor control, making them my perfect go-to liner from now on. Each box comes with a number to help you efficiently and discreetly choose which product is best for you.

If this is your first time purchasing Poise liners and you don’t want to stand in the aisle reading each box, I suggest visiting Walmart.com, where you’ll find helpful information on all the Poise products they carry.

By setting aside time each week to think through what you need to accomplish, making a master shopping list, routing your path through the store and using your new accessory, Poise liners for LBL, you should be able to maximize your shopping trips for a stress-free holiday season.

Let’s all endeavor to wag more, bark less, enjoy more and stress less this holiday season.

Happy Holidays!

Even though I grow flowers and bring fresh bouquets to add beauty and nature to my space, I’m always sad to see the blooms wither and have to be thrown away. I’ve tried drying special flower arrangements over the years, but my efforts were unremarkable and I knew I needed to leave this endeavor to a professional! Today I’m partnering with Roxanne’s Dried Flowers to show how dried flowers are a low-maintenance way to add floral beauty to your home.

Praising April- No Foolin'

in , , , , , , , by Linda A Kinsman, Monday, April 01, 2013

It is the first of April, the 91st day of 2013. As I turned my calendars and planners to today's date, I felt a surge of happiness. To me April is a month full of energy. It lights our morning skies and whispers in the breeze... Wake Up.

Whether that energy comes from the awakening of earth and plants, or the rain and storms full of powerful electricity, I couldn’t say.
Perhaps the energy comes from the stars being aligned just so: half in Aries, half in Taurus that makes me want to work and clean and live and laugh and make everything and everyone around me happy.  My sun and moon rise in different signs, but April still holds a special power for me.

April is a busy bee type month and I for one am glad it is here. My calendars show a month full of celebrations and activities and work and promise.
Not just here on our 5 acre home place, not just on my blog; both have jam-packed To-Do lists. No, there is energy inside of me as well, an internal cleaning of the house so to speak.

April is my month to change my thoughts into deeds. Dreams that have lain dormant during the cold winter months can come out of hibernation.

April calls, it sings to me: Wake Up. Get up. Go. Do. Be.

What does April mean to you?

Paper Trails

in , , , , by Linda A Kinsman, Wednesday, March 14, 2012

I am surrounded by paper of one sort or another. Each day I set out to follow the Golden Rule of organization: Touch the item only once. Make a decision and put it in its home.

This has always been tricky for me in our his & mine small business family. Some weeks its tough enough to handle the barrage of mail, school papers, appointments, coupons, invitations, etc. that makes up our family paper trail.

Today as I set down at my laptop (which resides in my office, which is the dining room table). I have to move piles of paper. I’m covered up with note pads, planners and pens.  So that’s why my hubby couldn’t find a pen last night! Oops.

I am an old school note taker and have notepads strategically placed throughout the house. Except for the bathrooms and our bedroom. Some rooms are work and call free zones.

Clearly, I have broken the Golden Rule. Several times in fact.  And, I’m teaching my girls to be awesome notepad users as well.

I started the frustrating task of clearing my work station; and un-earth notes from the girls.  One note says “I love you Mama, what’s for dinner?  Ah, I love the little hearts and cute little furry-baby! My oldest is so artistic.

Another note says “Can I watch TV?” This one has highly decorated yes or no boxes for me to make my choice. This one is from my youngest. Again, my heart squeezes with that special Mom love feeling.

I try to think back to what I was doing that made them write to me rather than talk with me.  I swallow my Mom Guilt and decide to save these notes to put in their memento books.

Which are,  of course, labeled and filed in their forever home with only one touch.

Not.

How do you handle your paper trail?

What is your paper style? Are you a stacker, a filer, a tosser?

Please share your thoughts.

Happy Friday!  Brrr… another cold snap has taken over and I for one am so ready for temps above 40. While I’m wishing for spring along with most everybody I know at this point, I’m thankful for January and all the “new” stuff it brings.

Like calendars and planners.

MyWAHMPlan.com

I love calendars. No, scratch that, I love functional calendars. Not those little purse thingies with their little bitty squares that I need two of per activity. Nope I like extra room for my leftie scrawl. So when Shoplet.com asked me if I’d like to review a desk calendar and weekly business planner for House of Dolittle, I happily agreed.  I received the products shown above free of charge to share my opinions, which are 100% my own and may differ from yours.

About House of Dolittle:

House of Dolittle has been helping people be more productive during their daily activities since 1919. They happily make all their products in the U.S.A. in Chicago, IL. All products are made with 100% post –consumer paper and soy inks.  My kind of company!

MyWAHMPlan.com

This desk top calendar reminds me of my many years (pre-kids) working outside the home in various secretarial and administrative positions.  I had to have one on my desk.  I wrote on it constantly. Not just important dates and key points of conversations, but reminders of what I needed to do and all the audibles tossed at me during the day from fellow office employees.

For at home use, this beauty resides on our family desktop. We all sit there and work and get frustrated when there is no paper to write on (usually because somebody carted off the notepad placed there). Now everybody can write all they want and have a visual reminder of what they wanted to remember instead of just telling me.

MyWAHMPlan.com

It’s all mine and is strictly for business. I have a lot to keep track of daily with my husband’s business, my blog and my Avon business. Way too much to put in my family planner. The weekly planner has lots of room for me to write on each day, an at a glance week view that I use often and it even offers an expense report ledger on the bottom of each page making it so much easier for me to keep track of the his, mine, ours business spending we do.  It will also serve as a reminder of expenditures we need to remember come tax time. Ugh, taxes! Another thing to "like" about January! *wink*

I’m very pleased with these products, they are easy to use and are helping me stay on task. It's not to late to buy yourself some new office supplies like these or the many other products available at Shoplet.com

As always, I hope you found this review helpful. Please share with me in comments, what type of planner or calendar system do you use to stay organized?

Happy Monday!  I am feeling much like my old happy self and wanted to use this spirit to revive a concept of sharing my weekly plan of action.
Every Monday I’m going to post my plan outlining 5 key tasks I’d like to accomplish.
These are my “extras” that I hope to accomplish, beyond the normal day to day tasks of life.

Then on Friday I’ll post a follow up.
Accountability and structure have served me well in other aspects of my life.
Why not here?
I think doing so will clearly show that working at home requires commitment, self-motivation and a healthy dose of patience and humor. And that no matter how much we plan, we may not reach our goals every time and that’s okay!
Healthy Life Design is all about taking positive, accountable steps in your life and offers several free downloadable planners and trackers. Go visit them HERE I bet you’ll find something you like!

Here is my Plan for Monday 4/23/12:
Home & Garden:
1.  Continue cleaning out the girl’s closets, bagging outgrown items for donation.
2.  Price compare mulch for front flower beds, replant Jade, trellis rose bush, clean planters, bird bath, bird feeders.
3.  Clip coupons, sort, put in car! * Anybody else forget their coupons this weekend?*
4. Research easy meal plans (blogs)?
5.  Help Ms. T & Ms. M sort books to sell or donate.

Businesses & Blog:
1. Put contact stickers on JAFRA products in stock.
2.  Add 15 minutes per day on increasing blog readership.
3.  Share April/May JAFRA brochure with e-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y who seems approachable.
4. Join local women’s group(s).
5.  Pick and post about a JAFRA product of the week.

That’s it for this week. I’ll follow up on Friday. Until then, I’d love to hear what you are working on this week and ask if you would like to see my April/May JAFRA brochure?
