Monday and My Plan
in action plan outline, blogging, direct sales, small business administration, by Linda A Kinsman, Monday, April 23, 2012
Happy Monday! I am feeling much like my old happy self and wanted to use this spirit to revive a concept of sharing my weekly plan of action.
Every Monday I’m going to post my plan outlining 5 key tasks I’d like to accomplish.
These are my “extras” that I hope to accomplish, beyond the normal day to day tasks of life.
Then on Friday I’ll post a follow up.
Accountability and structure have served me well in other aspects of my life.
Why not here?
I think doing so will clearly show that working at home requires commitment, self-motivation and a healthy dose of patience and humor. And that no matter how much we plan, we may not reach our goals every time and that’s okay!
Healthy Life Design is all about taking positive, accountable steps in your life and offers several free downloadable planners and trackers. Go visit them HERE I bet you’ll find something you like!
Here is my Plan for Monday 4/23/12:
1. Continue cleaning out the girl’s closets, bagging outgrown items for donation.
2. Price compare mulch for front flower beds, replant Jade, trellis rose bush, clean planters, bird bath, bird feeders.
3. Clip coupons, sort, put in car! * Anybody else forget their coupons this weekend?*
4. Research easy meal plans (blogs)?
5. Help Ms. T & Ms. M sort books to sell or donate.
Businesses & Blog:
1. Put contact stickers on JAFRA products in stock.
2. Add 15 minutes per day on increasing blog readership.
3. Share April/May JAFRA brochure with e-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y who seems approachable.
4. Join local women’s group(s).
5. Pick and post about a JAFRA product of the week.
That’s it for this week. I’ll follow up on Friday. Until then, I’d love to hear what you are working on this week and ask if you would like to see my April/May JAFRA brochure?
What a difference a 4 day spring break can do for mind and body!
If you are experiencing blogger burn out, I highly recommend walking away from the computer for as long as possible. If you stop the constant input, even for a weekend, you might be pleasantly surprised at how much clarity can be gained.
I used gardening to clear my head, but any activity that gets your hands busy will work.
The blogging community moves quickly, so in order to perform at optimum levels you need to shut down and re-boot, just like your computer. Our brains are like one big super computer, and when you take time off, its like clearing your cache!
Here’s what I discovered on my days off:
Blog for the love of it.
I love blogging. I really don’t care how many readers I have or how “big” I may be. I find blogging to be a creative outlet that helps me be a better me.
To Thine Own Self Be True.
I have knowledge and expertise to share with a certain audience: Work at Home Moms and Moms wanting to work from Home. I’ve been doing it for 13 years. That’s my niche. And it’s a good one.
It’s not about money.
This blog is not about money. A strong statement, I know. I will work with 1 affiliate company and that is it. Sure, I need more money, but I know that I won’t be happy trying to earn from blogging. I can’t sit at the computer long enough every day to make it profitable.
My WAHM Plan is an integral part of my business tool kit.
I have planted seeds and created strong roots to my blog. It is my Home Base, it is center to any and all advertising activities I pursue for my JAFRA business. If you are in direct sales, or want to be, I highly recommend starting a blog as your home base. Brand yourself NOT the products.
Less is More.
I don’t need to be a member of every blogging community out there. I found a lot of my online time was being spent helping blogging buddies, or trying to comment in the forums. This felt like non-productive hours.
Yes, we should allocate a certain amount of time networking, but also set aside time to research your true R.O.I. ( return on Investment). Your time is important. Be mindful of constant requests that lead you away from your goal.
So that’s it, just 4 days to Zen, clarity and a nice looking flower bed.
When was the last time you unplugged or walked away from your blog or online business?
Maybe you need a little Spring Break too.
Happy Monday, Happy Spring! This is just a quick note to let you know I am taking a break from blogging so that I can fully enjoy the season and to give my JAFRA business my undivided attention.
Sometimes to move forward we must stop. Will I return to blogging? That remains to be seen, but I know I will find myself and the answers outside, digging in the dirt with warm sunlight on my face.
So I'll close with Good Day and Blessings upon you and yours rather than Goodbye!
Does This Blog Make My Butt Look Big?
in blogging, exercising, fat, healthy, jobs, sedentary, smile, time management, walking, by Linda A Kinsman, Monday, March 07, 2011
Walking has long been a part of my healthy living regimen, but last week I noticed that my once "easy" 1-mile power walk wasn't quite so easy.
If I was pushing myself to power it up in a brisk 15-minute mile on Monday, well being jazzed about a 2-mile power walk with weights on Tuesday seemed...torturous!
Sunday is all about family time here and this Sunday was no different, so as I'm picking out paint colors and listening to the happy chatter from my oldest daughter, it occurred to me the reason why I was pooped after one measly mile!
My blog! Yikes! I LOVE my blog! But, is this love making my jeans a tidge tighter just like my hubby's eating habits did way back in our dating days?
Yep, sad I know but true. Blogging is a sedentary hobby or job ( depending on your blog) and I have fallen prey to the PC spread! I try to watch the clock and limit my time online, but still, I obviously need to do better.
Maybe I will take my walking outside now that there is a hint of spring in the air. Maybe I will be joining the local walking club.
I'll play with the kids after school for just a few more minutes. Maybe I'll just get out on my land and climb up our hill a couple times.
So that's my plan for the day ( and week, and Please!) the month: Move more, type less. Be a clock watcher (online and off), schedule
moving just like I schedule everything else.
Is your blog making your butt look big too? How about your mates? Are you leading a too sedentary lifestyle?
For once, we ladies aren't the only ones suffering, oh no, the guys with desk jobs have it even worse! Check out this great article I just read on how to avoid on the job weight gain
and then stand up, do a few quick squats, run to the kitchen and down a glass of water. Then come back here and let me know what you think!
Remember to smile, treat yourself well and put the oxygen mask on yourself first!
