in , , , by Linda A Kinsman, Thursday, December 26, 2024

Happy Thursday dear readers. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas yesterday. We did. Now that Christmas is behind me, I turn my attention to the upcoming awards season. The Oscars will be here before we know it. Today I wanted to share a film that’s available to stream, The Six Triple Eight starring Kerry Washington.

For the next week or so, I’ll be sharing film suggestions and reviews with you for the upcoming holidays, and the lead-up to awards season. It’s hard to believe I’ll be taking part in my fourth Oscar season this year with the Music City Film Critics Association, based in Nashville, TN. Today, we’re talking about Dear Santa!  I know you’re going to enjoy all the holiday hijinks that Jack Black brings to Dear Santa. Here’s my no-spoiler review.

Santa or Satan? You Be The Judge!

Dear Santa Film Review

As you know, I love holiday films, having reviewed Red One with Dwayne Johnson and A Sudden Case of Christmas with Danny DeVito last month. I will add my two cents on Dear Santa with Jack Black very soon. Today’s review is for a film that won’t give you the warm fuzzies like most of Hugh Grant’s films do (hello holiday classic Love, Actually, Happy 20th!). Prepare yourself to see Hugh Grant in a whole new light in Heretic.

It’s the last day of November, so it’s time for me to kick off the holidays with my first of the season giveaway! If you read my last post about Red One, then you probably know just how much I love holiday films! A Sudden case of Christmas is full of holiday charm, so I’m thrilled to introduce you to this film and host a DVD giveaway with three winners.

It’s the last day of October and I feel like this month had wings because it went by so quickly. I wish all who celebrate a very happy and safe Halloween. If you don’t have plans for Friday, or the weekend, I’ve got a film suggestion for you. Lost On A Mountain In Maine, which opens in theaters tomorrow November 1st will have you feeling connected to home just in time for the holidays.

Are you looking for a fun film stream tonight or this weekend? Then check out Wolfs on Apple TV +. As a member of the Music City Film Critics Association,  I recently received a press screener pass for this and must say, my husband and I really enjoyed Wolfs. Clooney and Pitt teamed up again to bring their own special brand of comedic timing to this film. Here’s my no-spoiler review.

It’s been thirty six years in the making. Thirty six years of waiting and using his name as a way to prank friends, but now the wait is finally over because he’s back at last! Beetlejuice Beetlejuice premieres in theaters nationwide on Friday, 9/6/24. Earlier this week, I was invited to a press screening for Music City Film Critics Association hosted by Allied Global Marketing and here’s my no spoiler review.

If you follow me on social media, you may have caught my recent post about the film God Bless Bitcoin. The overall consensus was, most of us don’t know much about BitCoin. One follower even said the idea of BitCoin scares her. In an effort to better understand this type of currency, or crypto currency, I had the opportunity to interview the producers  of GodBless Bitcoin for today’s post.

In the world of films, action and drama are what summer blockbusters usually consist of, so when the opportunity to screen a family friendly film about a penguin, which is based on a true story, I happily agreed. Today’s post is my no spoiler review of My Penguin Friend, a joyous story only in theaters this Friday, August 16th.
