I normally like to share reviews on films one at a time, but with the holidays and a new award season rapidly approaching, I'm playing a little catch up by sharing eight recently watched 2022 films with you today, which hopefully, can help you decide if they are worth watching or gifting. I've tried to make each a no spoiler review.
Film Lover's Gift Guide: 5 Unique Titles the whole family will Enjoy
Happy Holidays dear readers. I’m excited for today’s gift guide because I love films and I know so many of you do as well. I have a film suggestion for everyone in the family in this gift guide. There’s two new release films, two classic films, and one horror film.
Earlier this week, I attended the Nashville, Tennessee press screening of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania with my husband. I believe this is a highly anticipated film for Marvel and Ant-Man fans worldwide. I know we were certainly excited for the opportunity to view the film in Dolby along with other local film critics and if the buzz before and after the film is any indication, Nashville should be included in the fandom.

Now Streaming: Dream Scenario with Nicolas Cage my spoiler-free Review
I hope everyone who celebrates Christmas had a wonderful holiday. I sure did. As we inch closer to the year's end, our thoughts usually turn to end-of-year reflections. Did we achieve the goals we made in 2023? Did we fulfill any dreams? I can happily say yes, but for some who find themselves dreaming of Nicholas Cage's character in Dream Scenario, happy is not the term they would use!

My Dad was a huge fan of Rocky films, so of course, I’ve seen key scenes from several of the films in the Rocky film franchise, which launched in 1976 with the film Rocky and concluded with Rocky Balboa in 2006, or so we thought. Rocky made a comeback in 2015 in Creed in which Rocky trains Adonis Creed and the beginning of the Creed films got their start. As was the case with Rocky films, I’d only watched a few key scenes from Creed films because my husband is a fan.

For the next week or so, I’ll be sharing film suggestions and reviews with you for the upcoming holidays, and the lead-up to awards season. It’s hard to believe I’ll be taking part in my fourth Oscar season this year with the Music City Film Critics Association, based in Nashville, TN. Today, we’re talking about Dear Santa! I know you’re going to enjoy all the holiday hijinks that Jack Black brings to Dear Santa. Here’s my no-spoiler review.

Insightful Q & A with Brian & Kelly Estes of Godbless Bitcoin a Free Film
If you follow me on social media, you may have caught my recent post about the film God Bless Bitcoin. The overall consensus was, most of us don’t know much about BitCoin. One follower even said the idea of BitCoin scares her. In an effort to better understand this type of currency, or crypto currency, I had the opportunity to interview the producers of GodBless Bitcoin for today’s post.

I Streamed Sinners on HBO Max: Was It A Good Date Night Option? My Review
I missed the opportunity to go to the screener of Sinners in April, and with “Maycember” being a real thing, Sinners fell off my radar for a bit. I need to watch as many films as possible since I’m a member of Nashville’s film critics association, and was happy to see two recent box office films available for streaming. Today, I’m discussing Sinners, available to stream on HBO Max. Did I think it was a good date night option? I’ll let you know and try not to add any spoilers.

Love Golfing? The Short Game opens in Theaters Aug. 29th
Golf is a popular sport for adults and kids in our area of Tennessee, with several high school teams, so it was wonderful to have a movie where teen golfers are the focus. If you have a golfer in your family, especially a teen, who loves golfing, why not add this film to your weekend plans?
In Life Every Shot Counts!
What do you think of when you hear the name Ferrari? For most of us, the answer is beautiful red fast race cars. And you’ll see plenty of these beauties in Micheal Mann’s Ferrari, coming to theaters on Christmas Day. I received a press screener from Neon, and let me just say you may want to add this going to see this film to your holiday plans.

Inspired by A True Story!
Happy last Friday of May friends! May is one of those months that has thirty one days that pass by in the blink of an eye because of all the end of school year activities. Even though I’m on the other side of the May school day chaos, I remember it well and so many of my friends and readers are still in te thick of it. This giveaway is my way of helping you kick of your summer family movie nights in style.
As you know, I love holiday films, having reviewed Red One with Dwayne Johnson and A Sudden Case of Christmas with Danny DeVito last month. I will add my two cents on Dear Santa with Jack Black very soon. Today’s review is for a film that won’t give you the warm fuzzies like most of Hugh Grant’s films do (hello holiday classic Love, Actually, Happy 20th!). Prepare yourself to see Hugh Grant in a whole new light in Heretic.
Faith and Intelligence Required!
Happy Valentine’s Day to all who celebrate it! This year, it’s just my husband and I celebrating now that we’re empty nesters. Our youngest daughter moved out just before Thanksgiving. I’m still adjusting to this new normal, which has had some ups and downs. One of the downs is I’ve been in a bit of a creative rut. When I read a friend's blog post this morning with this fun writing prompt, I knew it was just the thing to spark my creativity. I’m joining Mix and Match Mama and her monthly writing prompts where we share little peaks into our lives.
No Spoiler Review of Audrey’s Children in theaters on March 28th
Talking about sick children with cancer isn’t a topic I normally cover here on my blog, but watching and reviewing films is. Today, those two topics collide as I share my no-spoiler review of Audrey’s Children, a biopic film that takes on children’s cancer in 1969. Since this is a no-spoiler review, I won’t go into much detail about the children, but please stop reading here if this topic is upsetting.
