Club Penguin 1-month Membership Giveaway

The kids are getting out of school for the most wonderful time of the year. I am happy to share another great boredom buster with you from my friend over at MyUNEntitled Life: A one month free membership to Club Penguin!

Read her review below and enter to win!

My children love Club Penguin. We've had a Club Penguin Membership in our house for years, since my son was 9 I believe. You set up a username and password and the children can log in to play. It is the number one virtual site for children. It is advertising free and there is an area on their site that is free to children. They are not allowed to share their information with other players and they have monitors who make sure the rules are followed. It's nice to be able to let kids play online, watch them have fun and not worry. My first child played it for many years. He's older now and has moved on. My younger son is now playing and my daughter is too.
My daughter just logged in and has been playing a lot lately. Especially now that we are out of school for the holidays. Interested in trying Club Penguin for your own family? You can thank Disney for giving us 3 one month memberships to giveaway to our most loyal fans. Enter below to win! Thank you Disney for providing my child a fun, safe environment for game playing and hours of enjoyment. Make sure you check out my post on how Club Penguin is encouraging kids to give in their own community!
To date Club Penguin has given $9million to various charities around the world.

Prayers and a Pledge

So many worlds were forever changed last Friday. Even though my home is states away from Newtown Connecticut, I can almost see it; and the people in this beautiful New England town having spent a summer in the area years ago.
I wish I could have attended the candle-light vigil last night in Charleston, CT. to show my support.

I have felt helpless in the wake of this tragic, ugly event.
Yes, I have prayed and cried and gasped in horror and grieved right along with the rest of the world, but until this morning I felt powerless to do anything of true value.
I had no plans to write about my feelings, because, honestly, this tragedy isn’t about me.
And then it came to me - yes it is about me in one small but meaningful way. I am a Mom raising future Moms.

Parents- this is our call to action!

I can’t change the whole world, but I can change my part of it.
 How?

The very best and most useful thing I can do for this grieving town full of families just like my own is to be a better me.
Make my world- right here, in my home, on my street and community, in my children’s school, in my relationships with every single person I come in contact with starting right now: Better.
I can be a brighter light in this dark world and in turn I can enable my children to be bright lights as well.

It is the only true gift I have to give.

If we all went forth from this moment on with love and kindness in the fore-front, wouldn’t all our worlds be a brighter place?

You are in our thoughts and prayers Newtown.  We will light a candle for you on Christmas Day and I pledge to be a better me from this day forth.

Wet Ones Sticky Situations Facebook # Contest

Have you ever found yourself on a field trip with several classrooms of 4th graders and nearest bathroom is a long hike towards the exit?

Yes, life’s sticky situations happen to us Moms with older kids too.
Field trips where the kids got lots of hands on experiences, like petting live-stock and feeling soybeans is a perfect place for Wet Ones!

Here are some tips for your next field trip.
1. Make sure your purse/backpack is stocked with Wet Ones and an extra “trash” bag to toss wipes in case no trash can is near.
2. Try to be calm and not freak out when you see a child getting ready to stick their grubby hands on their face and offer them a wipe first.  Some kids will do something gross just to get a rise out of you.
3. After your group is done with the activity, ask them to form a line, hand them a wipe (don’t let them pull one out themselves) and then have them toss it in the trash bag.
Easy –peasy field trip clean up!
Do your kids get in sticky situations too?

Wet Ones is giving us the opportunity to share all of the Sticky Situations we have found ourselves in and tips on how to deal with them through their Facebook Contest!
Simply log on and share your story and tips, and you can be entered to win an iPad Mini

Giveaway- Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two

The great giveaways just keep coming here in this wonderful blogging world! This review and giveaway is hosted by my blogging buddy over at My Unentitled Life. If you aren't a fan of her blog yet, you soon will be! Enjoy the review and enter to win!

Her Review and Giveaway Link:

I was so excited when Disney contacted me about doing a review of Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two. It is available on all the major gaming systems, xbox 360, wii, ps3, and coming in January on Mac and PC! I chose it for the wii and the kids and I played it this morning. It was so much fun. Mickey is painting his way through the world and making changes as he goes.

In Epic Mickey, Mickey was trying to use his powers for good to rebuild the Wasteland, the world that was forgotten and ruled by Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. Now somethings changed Wasteland and only Mickey and Oswald working together can help save the home for forgotten toons. Unleash the power of these two superstars and find out if they can save the town for the toons. Save them in Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two.

I excitedly got it out of the box with the cheers from my children playing in the background as inspiration to get it opened and begin playing.  Once opened and put in I found a cute little intro video walking me through the reason we were there and what our mission was. I used my wii remote to move Mickey through the world and paint rocks to extend the walkway. I noticed the resemblance to Fantasia as the brooms and mops were walking around all through the game. It was great fun as I had to find Mickey's paintbrush so I could continue the game. The kids were loving it too. I left them too it after playing it for about 20 minutes. They played it so much that day I had to make them turn it off and go outside for a few minutes! Hope you enjoy it as much as I did! Enter to win Oswald's hat and the Epic 2 Mickey game! Good luck and if you get the game let me know what your kids think about it.
