Having watched the slow cognitive decline of my mother-in-law a few years ago, I was highly interested in learning all I could from this cookbook. According to the front flap of the book, the foods we choose to eat (or not) sit at the core of the Alzheimer’s epidemic. Those are powerful and hope-filled words! Author and chef Annie Fenn, MD, makes a compelling case for this thinking in The Brain Health Kitchen Cookbook.

It’s #GivingTuesday and there is a lot of happiness floating around! I hope you’ve had a chance to share your ways of giving today on your favorite social channels. I joined in on Twitter and it was amazing seeing all the wonderful acts of kindness and generosity at the height of shopping season. If you’d like to learn more about #GivingTuesday, please read my post here.
I couldn’t think of a better way to honor a day of giving than by hosting a giveaway! Thanks to Reviva Labs, I’ll be giving away two of their all natural products. They sent me a complimentary bottle of Elastin Serum Concentrate and a jar of Nasolabial Folds cream to try and share with you. All opinions are my own.
About Reviva Labs Elastin Serum concentrate:
First, let’s talk about Reviva Labs Elastin Serum concentrate. Make no mistake ladies, if you are over 25, you may need this product! After 25, your skin begins losing its supply of Elastin. This loss is aggravated by lots of sun exposure, temperature extremes, stress, tobacco, alcohol, drying winds just to name a few culprits.
Reviva’s Elastin Serum Concentrate feeds skin special quality Elastin to boost skin elasticity and firmness and can be used alone or under other creams. This serum works best on the little wrinkles you may have on your around your lips or eyes.
My Thoughts:
After using this product for 3+ weeks, I can see a difference on my face, neck and hands on the days I have time to use this before I put on my moisturizer. The serum goes on easily, dries quickly, and has no scent or greasy feel. I like it and do recommend it!
Beauty Tip- If it goes on your face to improve it, it should be applied to the back of your hands as well. Hands age us almost faster than our necks do!
About Reviva Labs Nasolabial Folds multi-peptide cream:
Now, let’s discuss Reviva Labs Nasolabial Folds multi-peptide cream. This is for all us 35+ ladies who may be seeing some parentheses around our mouths. I have them and I don’t like them, so I was especially interested in a non-invasive, paraben free solution such as this cream.
Reviva Labs states that while no skin cream can claim it can totally remove deep Nasolabial folds, they can help reduce their appearance as well as other stubborn facial lines. They made the Nasolabial Fold cream to combat the “folds” that run from each side of your nose to the corners of your mouth (parentheses). These folds are thought to be the result of years of smiling, frowning and other facial expressions we do on a daily basis.
However, Reviva Labs and various medical experts agree that facial contractions are not the only cause. Aging and the loss of cheek fat is a major factor. The young face is full, with cheeks that have a “fat pad”. With age, the fat falls down toward the nose causing skin sag and folds. In addition, skin along the jawline drops (creating jowls) and skin towards edges of mouth loosens, forming lines or wrinkles.
My Thoughts:
I’ve been using this cream on a semi- nightly basis for 3+ weeks I have noticed a slight change, but I remain hopeful that this results will improve over time.
I like that this cream has no scent, is non-greasy and goes on smoothly. I can feel it working on my face, even when I apply a small amount. My opinion on this product is neutral at this point, but I will continue to use it and will update this post if I have other news.
