Happy Friday, dear readers. I’m excited to combine two fun and popular topics in today’s post. Friday's Faves and a look back on the top ten blog posts here on the blog for 2025.  I’m thrilled to see that my film coverage had the most interaction and views, with four film posts making the top ten. Next was food and drink, with three posts, and a three-way tie with one each for books, home and garden, and Nashville.

It’s awards season, and Sinners is having a moment with several award nominations, including 12 from all members of the Music City Film Critics Association, with me included in the ranks. It comes as no surprise that this was my number one post of 2025.

If you haven’t streamed Sinners yet, you should before the Academy Awards on Sunday, March 15, 2026. Stay tuned for more coverage on the awards show soon.

Old Stone Creamery

2 Old Stone Creamery: Inviting People to Eat at their Table since 1872

My husband and I have always enjoyed going on dates, especially day dates, where we drive to local places and discover good food or fun activities.

My second favorite blog post of last year is about a hidden gem nearby that we’d never been able to catch open because of their retail hours until we happened by the Old Stone Creamery one weekend day in August. If you're in the Nashville area, youshould pay them a visit.

3 Friday Faves Food and Drink Edition

I loved seeing a Friday Faves show up on this list because I struggled getting into a good rhythm with this blog series. I’m glad I stuck with them, though, because you all seem to enjoy them since two Friday Faves made the list! This food and drink list was fun to put together. From mushroom coffee to tasty dinners, I've got you covered.

4 Sundance Award Winning East Of Wall In Theaters Everywhere August 15th

Until I became a film critic, I didn’t pay much attention to The Sundance Film Festival and the buzz surrounding the films being shown and enjoyed. I’m glad that’s all changed now and I look forward to learning more about those buzz worthy films.

East of Wall was one of those films last year and I was honored to have the opportunity to screen it and share my thoughts with you.

Golfing is such a fun, summery sport, I can see why you all enjoyed my post on the film The Short Game.

The Language of Flowers Mugs

6.Serve up smiles at your next coffee gathering with Language of Flowers Mugs

I love coffee and collecting coffee mugs. I’ve passed both of those loves onto my daughters, so when I had the opportunity to review a set of lovely hand-painted flower mugs, I jumped at the chance. They have been a joy to use and add a cheery element to my kitchen. Since this post comes in fifth, Ithink you all must love these things too!

8 Cocktails Southern Style Review and Southern Mule Recipe

My husband and I enjoy the occasional drink at home on date nights.  I thought it would be fun to learn how to make something other than a standard Gin and Tonic. Cocktails Southern Style rescued us from drink boredom with countless fun recipes. I’m still dreaming of setting up a new bar cart.

9 No-Egg Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe to Delight Your Sweethearts

I’ve been making this no-egg chocolate chip cookie recipe for years, to the delight of my family and friends. I did make one change to this recipe by using dark chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet. If you're a dark chocolate fan, I highly recommend trying it.
