I was sharing with my daughter Melissa that I wanted to
learn how to take better flat lay photos like hers recently, when she said she
would be happy to teach me by showing me how. I’m so stoked to be working with
her because she slays flat lay photography and is on top of all things beauty
and fashion. We’ve decided to do a new blog series together called All My
Favorite Things. Welcome to the February Edition, we hope you like it.
My Favorite Things in February:
This is a
sponsored post on behalf of Nakturnal
Agency. I
received information to facilitate today’s post as well as a promotional item
to thank me for my participation. All opinions are my own.
My Favorite Jewelry: Minimalistic Gold Necklaces and Earrings.
According to Harper’s Bazar’s December Jewelry Trends article, all
things zodiac are still having a moment, but I needed a more affordable option.
Thankfully, I’d just recently learned about AU-Rate in New York. They are a fine jewelry company
that believes in offering high quality,
sustainable jewelry made with ethical gold and diamonds, with
a focus on classic, clean design. They have a beautiful selection of gold personalized necklaces,
including small initials and zodiac signs!
I was all set to purchase a Gemini
necklace, when I noticed there was a six week wait time because they are made
to order. Before making my final purchasing decision, I decided to shop some
more and I’m so glad I did because I feel in love with their gold Obelisk
Pendant necklace for $100. Before checkout, I was alerted to their current
sale, so I found these gold studs earrings.
Aren’t these little studs simply divine? I’ve been wanting
something small for my second piercings that wouldn’t feel heavy in my ears and
these babies are the perfect size. I
can’t wait to wear the necklace and earrings on my next weekend date night. Be
sure to shop for your own personalized picks with AU-Rate here.
My Favorite Makeup: Rose Gold Eye shadow Palette and Raspberry Lipstick.
I’m always on the lookout for a pretty pink nude eye shadow
palette because I like how they look with my brown eyes, but honestly, the
packaging draws me in first and it doesn’t get more gorgeous than this rose
gold palette Prime Time from Authentic Beauty. I was first introduced to this
amazing line of beauty products by super model Christie Brinkley for a Mother’sDay post in 2018 and I’ve loved this line ever since!
Prime Time isn’t one of those palette’s you buy for just one color
and winds up taking up space in your beauty collection. According to their website, this palette of
lovely nude shades is a curated collection of perfectly-balanced color,
professionally-developed to deliver easy, elegant, day-to-dazzling evening
looks. I have the Cool Rose Nude palette and love mixing the shades
Simmer and Ascend for a quick day time look.
While I do
so love nudes on my eyes, I’ve been known to add a pop of color to my day look with
my lipstick. For me, nothing says Hello! I’m ready for my day more than a
pretty berry lipstick like this cool Raspberry lipstick from Avon.
According to
PopSugar Beauty’s article
on best lipsticks for 2020, berry lipsticks are going to be everywhere this
year and I am here for it! From Maybelline New York Sensational Color for all Lipstick, to The Sephora Collection Cream Lip Shine line,
there is a beautiful berry shade for every skin tone and budget. Adding a bit more color to your lips will only brighten your face on these cold winter days ladies, so step out of your comfort zone and go bold in February.
My Favorite Candle Scents: Clean and Evergreen.
I love
candles and I know you do too because anytime I host a giveaway like this one I currently have open, you show the post all kinds of love! Lately, I’ve
been loving all the clean and evergreen scented candles.
I try to shop small businesses first, so I was
thrilled to discover Amber Vale Home’s
line of wooden wick candles are made near me. I love their Tennessee Christmas candle so much, I’ll need to order another one soon, but lately I’ve
been burning their Guest House Candle and love it’s fresh, green pine-like
Cypress and Spearmint scents.
Of course, there
is no better place to show small candle businesses love than Etsy. For instance, I just did a search for wooden wick soy candles evergreen and the first option sounds perfect for me! It’s
called Secluded Forest. I’m so tempted to add this to my cart, but I’ll resist
for now.
