Fuel your busy days with complete food drink Huel - My WAHM Plan

Fuel your busy days with complete food drink Huel

It’s another hot and sultry day here in middle Tennessee where I’m fortunate enough to be working inside with the gentle breeze from my ceiling fan assisting my overworked AC to keep our home cool. Soon enough though, I’ll be stepping outside to run after school errands with my daughter to get more necessary back to school class supplies. We’ll both “power through” our multiple store shopping trip until dinner time easily because we can fuel our day with a chilled Vanilla Huel, a complete food drink. I’d love to introduce you to this fast-growing nutrition brand today, so read on to learn about Huel and my thoughts on their products.

About Huel:

Huel Logo

According to their website: The idea for Huel was born in 2012 when Julian Hearn set out to combat obesity by starting Body Hack, a company he founded with the goal of creating a program that would help people get the optimum nutrition to aid their physical performance. In pursuit of this goal, Hearn put himself on a diet plan that required him to stick to a strict meal and exercise regime. This involved a lot of preparation, forcing him to carefully plan and prepare each meal to make sure that his body was getting exactly what it needed.

While he saw great results from this program, he found that it wasn’t possible without dedicating almost 100% of his day to it. When he spoke about it to his friends and relatives, they all came back saying one thing: “I don’t have the time to do that.” Julian knew there had to be an easier way and set out to create one. That’s when he started creating Huel: a perfectly balanced and nutritional complete meal that you can prepare in under two minutes. Fast forward to today and Huel is the fastest growing nutrition brand in the world.

About Huel Powder in Chocolate:

#ad Huel products for #review

I’m a huge chocolate lover and have drank my fair share of meal replacement shakes and drinks over the years. I gravitate towards chocolate, so when I saw that Huel had sent me two bags of their powder; Vanilla and Chocolate, it was a no-brainer that I’d try the chocolate first! Mixing up a serving of Huel is simple and straight forward. I received the Huel shaker bottle to which I added 12 ounces cold water, two scoops of Huel chocolate powder and three ice cubes. Then I placed the lid on tightly and shook contents vigorously for about a minute and a half. Then, I added an additional 3 ounces via the lid opening and shook for an additional 30 seconds according to package directions.

My Thoughts on Huel Chocolate drink:

Consistency:
This drink is thick! Not quite milkshake thick, but certainly thicker than some other nutritional shakes on the market. Next time I have a chocolate drink, I’ll add an additional ounce and a half of water to see if I like the consistency better.
I didn’t find the drink to be gritty or powdery at all, which was a pleasant surprise from just two minutes of shaking to mix in the powder.
Taste:
This drink will take some getting used to for sure! The chocolate flavor is very light and doesn’t detract from the overall oat flavoring. I’d like it to be a little more chocolatey in flavor, but I think I’ll grow accustomed to the flavor and consistency the more I drink.
I had my husband daughter’s give the chocolate drink and try and they all agreed that the chocolate tastes better to us than the Vanilla.
Ease of Use:
Instructions are easy to follow. This is a super easy to make a drink, especially if you have their shaker; but any drink shaker will work!

My Thoughts on Huel Ready to Drink Vanilla:

Consistency:
Huel gets high marks for consistency on this! I pop a bottle in the fridge at night and it’s ready to go in the morning with a couple of shakes.

Taste:
Again, this is a flavor profile I’m going to have to work to get used to. I like the chocolate better, so I think I’ll try using the ready-made vanilla drinks in smoothies and then mixing the vanilla powder with fat free milk to see if that helps with overall flavor. I’m also going to add one of the  Chia flavor boost packets I received. The flavor boosts come in:
  • Banana
  • Mint Chocolate
  • Strawberry
  • Apple Cinnamon
  • Caramel
  • Chia
  • Mocha

Ease of Use:
I pop a bottle in the fridge at night and it’s ready to go in the morning with a couple of shakes. Couldn’t be any easier for me or my family on supper busy school days!
