Reduce Muscle Pain after exercise with TENS - My WAHM Plan

Reduce Muscle Pain after exercise with TENS

After the heat of summer, the cooler fall weather calls me back outside to enjoy daily activities like long walks, hikes, and more strenuous gardening projects.  All of this is good for my mind, soul, and body, but sometimes I overdo it and experience muscle pain the next day.  I was delighted to receive an invitation to try and review the newest TENS Massager and share it with you here.  Since my husband has an older model and used it with great success for back pain, I figured this new model TENS would be a welcome addition to our pain relief arsenal and help reduce my muscle pain after exercising.

About the new Auvon TENS 4-Channel TENS & EMS Massager:

According to their website, TENS is a muscle stimulator that can effectively relieve pain after exercise and more.  It works best when used during activities such as walking, doing chores, or exercise.  The TENS machine is a safe, non-invasive, drug free method of pain relief and pain management that’s safe, non-invasive, and drug free.  It’s actually been used by doctors and physical therapists for years.  My husband has an older version of the TENS that he purchased after his doctor suggested it for his sciatic never back pain.  He can vouch for the TENS effectiveness.

The cool thing about this massager is it  allows you to apply up to 8 pads at the same time with the 4 outputs for much efficient pain relief.  The independent A/B channel can work in different modes and different levels of intensities.  For example-  you can select mode 7 with 3 intensities for your shoulders in channel A1 and A2, while in channel B1 and B2, this TENS machine can work as a back pain relief product in P3 with a much stronger intensity.  That’s pretty amazing!

Who is the TENS Massager for? :

This TENS massager is good for people suffering from muscle and joint pain from a wide range of causes like:

  • Tension
  • Stress
  • Overuse
  • Minor injuries
  • Chronic conditions

Many people have even used it for intense pain from sports injury, knee injury, foot, hip, arthritis, or tennis elbow.

Setting TENS function

My Thoughts:

Having witnessed firsthand how well the TENS Massager helps ease my husband’s back pain, I was sure it would help ease my shoulder tension and stiffness from gardening.  Pulling up crabgrass is hard work!  I think I will use TENS most at night while watching TV.

EMS for strength and rehab:

I will however take advantage of this devices mobility options and place the pin pads on either side of my trick knee while up doing chores.  For this I’ll turn my device to the EMS setting.  EMS brings elicitation of muscle contraction using electrical impulses and activates the muscles to assist in the increase of strength and endurance as a rehab and strength training tool.

Key Features:

10 Upgraded TENS Unit Pads.  The Low impedance Solid Gel has been upgraded to the industry leading American adhesive, which can provide much better self-stick performance and easy clean up after 45 uses for a longer lifespan.

Standard 2mm connector lead wires & electrodes are classic and commonly used in the medical area, which makes it easier for you to find compatible accessories.

Large LCD & Multi-Modes.  A 3.69" large LCD backlit screen is used for this labor pain simulator and muscle massager with enlarged icons and buttons for much easier reading and operating experience.

Ability to set working time for your TENS unit muscle stimulator from 10 to 90 minutes, which will sufficiently satisfy your massaging needs.  I started with just 10 minutes, while my husband prefers 20 minutes at a time.

It also comes with a built-in rechargeable lithium battery, so there is little risk of the massager stopping during one of your sessions.  Just make sure you check the battery level after each use and charge accordingly.

The Takeaway:

The newest model of the TENS Massager from Auvon is going to be a game changer, not only for myself and husband;  It’s made for everybody!  If you move your body daily and feel discomfort from that movement, you can utilize the TENS to reduce muscle pain after exercising and to help strengthen the muscles that might be underutilized.  Or you may have a trick knee like me from an old injury that you still baby just a little.  That’s where the EMS strength settings will help most.
