I’m excited to share this sweet tidbit of news in today’s Friday Faves post. When I first received the email invitation to try Levain Bakery’s handcrafted cookies, I literally did a happy dance and immediately replied to that day-brightening email.
NYC Levain Bakery Handcrafted Cookies are coming to Nashville
My thanks to Levain Bakery for the complimentary cookies sent for me to try and share in today's post. All opinions are my own.
Any time I have the opportunity to showcase a woman-owned and founded business, women accept. Women helping women is important to me. So imagine my delight in learning that Levain Bakery is women-founded.
About Levain Bakery:
Pam Weekes and Connie McDonald founded Levain Bakery in 1995 as a small bread shop on the Upper West Side of New York City. After training for triathlons, the founder duo started baking six-ounce cookies with simple, high-quality ingredients as the ultimate post-race treat. After finalizing the recipe, the cookie flew off the bakery shelves. Thirty years later, with 19 current bakery locations, Levain is often lauded as the home of the world's best cookie.
Why Nashville will be the Twentieth Levain Bakery:
"We've wanted to bring Levain to Nashville for years, but for us the right location matters just as much as the bakery itself," said founders Pam Weekes and Connie McDonald. "The moment we walked into the space, we knew it was the one.
It's not often you get the opportunity to step into a place that already means so much to so many people, and we recognized right away what a special role Burger Up has played in this community.
We feel honored to carry that legacy forward as the next stewards of a neighborhood gathering place. Our hope is that this bakery becomes somewhere friends meet over coffee, families stop in after school, and neighbors continue making memories for years to come.”
Plans are underway to open in Nashville’s 12 South Neighborhood in 2027:
While the exact opening date hasn’t been announced, I’m sure Nashville is excited to know what’s moving into the old Burger Up location. According to Levain Bakery, after more than four years of searching for the perfect space in Music City, Levain found its Nashville home at 2901 12th Avenue South, the longtime location of neighborhood favorite Burger Up.
Why Levain Bakery Chose This Spot:
"We've wanted to bring Levain to Nashville for years, but for us the right location matters just as much as the bakery itself," said founders Pam Weekes and Connie McDonald. "The moment we walked into the space, we knew it was the one.
Our hope is that this bakery becomes somewhere friends meet over coffee, families stop in after school, and neighbors continue making memories for years to come.”
Plans to have a Positive Neighborhood Impact:
As they have in every city they enter, Levain Bakery will look for ways to become part of the fabric of Nashville, from hiring from the neighborhood's hospitality talent pool to community partnerships and donating opening day proceeds to a nonprofit in the area. It sounds like a perfect match to me. I can't wait to visit them!
Try Levain Bakery Cookies at Home:
There’s something so nostalgic about having milk and cookies as an adult. The Signature Collection 4-pack of cookies I was sent to try checked off all my cookie-loving boxes. These handcrafted beauties arrived fresh and ready to warm for a few minutes in the oven, or 20 seconds in the microwave. My favorite part was sharing them.
These six-ounce cookies are huge! They were made to be fuel for after you ran a race, after all. I split them in half, as you can see in the photo above. That’s their chocolate peanut butter chip cookie, and it quickly became my husband’s favorite.
Thankfully, I can order another batch of them online while we await the opening of the local location. If you aren’t near one of Levain Bakery locations and would like to see all the cookie options and place an order, head over to https://levainbakery.com/.
