I’m honored to be part of the press that’s providing coverage of the 55th Nashville Film Festival, which kicks off in Nashville, Tennessee this evening at 5;30pm. I wish I could attend this year's red carpet event at the Belcourt Theatre like I did two years ago. It was an exciting event and I learned a great deal about providing coverage at a festival. This year’s festival looks just as exciting and I’ll be sharing coverage throughout the week here on the blog and on socials.

It’s time to immerse ourselves in the world of music, storytelling, and inspiration as we start this incredible journey. Today, we kick things off with a double feature, which sounds highly entertaining.
Music Documentaries, Devo and Rebel Country will start off the festival today at the historic Belcourt Theatre. Unfortunately, due to a family emergency, Devo won’t be able to attend today’s press event. There will be a Q & A after the screening of Rebel Country. Here’s a brief synopsis of the double feature films.
Film One: Devo: Screening Time- 3:30pm at The Belcourt Theatre, Nashville, TN.

“Explore Devo's 50-year career through never-before-seen archival and interviews with co-founders Mark Mothersbaugh and Jerry Casale. Born in response to the Kent State massacre, Devo took their concept of "de-evolution" from a cult following to near-rock star status with their groundbreaking 1980 hit "Whip It," all while preaching an urgent social commentary.
The film is directed by Chris Smith, whose credits include Wham!, Fyre, 100 Foot Wave, and Jim & Andy: The Great Beyond. The film is a co-production of VICE Studios, Fremantle, and Library Films.”
If you haven’t already, you can reserve tickets here.
Film Two: Rebel Country: Screening Time-6:15pm, at The Belcourt Theatre, Nashville, TN.

“Country music is changing — or maybe it’s returning to its roots. This musical documentary traces the troubled history and inclusive future of the genre with performances from today’s most talented iconoclasts, including Blanco Brown, Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson, and BRELAND. Following the Screening, there will be a A live Q&A with artists Frank Ray, Blanco Brown and Sam Williams.”
Get your tickets for Rebel Country here.
Opening Night Party: 8pm-11pm at the Parthenon, Nashville, TN.

Courtesy:Nashville Film Festival The Parthenon in Nashville is the world’s only exact-size and detailed replica of the original temple in Athens, Greece. The centerpiece of Centennial Park, The Parthenon houses a museum with rotating contemporary exhibitions as well as a permanent collection. Join us for a celebration to kick off the 55th Nashville Film Festival! The party will directly follow the Opening Night Screening of Rebel Country at the Belcourt Theatre by reserving your tickets here. This is going to be a fun film festival, and I hope you can join us in person, or during our virtual cinema, which I’ll talk about in more detail tomorrow.
