Free Homeschool Labs Student COVID-19 Printable Lesson & Worksheet - My WAHM Plan

Free Homeschool Labs Student COVID-19 Printable Lesson & Worksheet

Disclosure: This post is sponsored by Greg Landry's Homeschool Labs.

Happy Saturday friends. The term homeschool has taken on a whole new meaning for so many over the last few weeks hasn't it? In our home, we have Juniors. One in college and one in high school. Fortunately, they are self- starters who do all their assignments independently and have continued to do all assignments provided by their respective schools. When I was asked if I'd like to collaborate with Greg Landry (a homeschool STEM pioneer) to share his free Homeschool Labs Student COVID-19 Printable Lesson & Worksheet I said yes, because I feel science is an important subject and this is a timely topic that can help our middle and high school students better understand the COVID-19 virus.

From Greg Landry:

Students in Greg Landry’s online science classes have had a lot of questions about COVID-19 (by the way, this is not the name of the virus), and your children may also have questions. Greg has created a PDF to address the common questions and to give students an understanding of viruses in general, and this virus in particular...in a way that's fun for students.

For example, Greg Landry believes that in science, it's very important for students to have what he calls "magnitude perspective". We all know that viruses and bacteria are very small, but few people really have a perspective on how small they are and how they compare with each other and to the width of a human hair. He does this not only with numbers but also with graphics they can easily understand.

Greg Landry’s FREE PDF also covers:

  • Are viruses alive?
  • How do they affect humans?
  • What's the actual name of the current virus? (few people know this).
  • What is "coronavirus"?
  • What do they look like?
  • Where do viruses come from?
  • What are some common diseases caused by viruses?

This PDF includes a printable student worksheet with graphics to label and color plus a virus quiz. Click here to get a free COVID-19 Student Printable Lesson +Bonus! When you submit your email to receive this freebie you will also have access to a free "muscular system" lesson and worksheet!

I hope this is a helpful resource for you and your family. Please feel free to share this with your friends and family who may want to add this to their students learning. I'm going to go over this worksheet with my teen on Monday because I'd like to learn more about this virus as well.

It is my hope that you and your family and safe, sound and healthy.

Please share in comments: Are you homeschooling a student right now? If yes, what grade(s) are they in?

This is awesome! I'm always looking for good activities for my kids, but this one is so spot on for the current moment. I love when they get to learn about something that is relevant to them like this.

How fun! I love that they are trying to help make learning fun! I might even have to use this and see if I can learn something new. :)

This is such an excellent, and well-needed resource! As a parent, it is so tough to know how to explain things sometimes. Sharing with my daughter for my granddaughter.
