Okay busy ladies everywhere, I see you. The holidays are behind us, the kids are back at school and your back to work game is strong, so strong that it doesn’t even feel like you stepped away at all in the last weeks of 2019. Is that you? Because, that has been me. Year after busy year going by with me steadfast in the knowledge that as long as I planned my days, all would be well. I planned my days, so well in fact that I stopped allocating time for a proper breakfast. Countless mornings found me grabbing a quick bowl of cereal that I mindlessly ate at the kitchen sink. Sound familiar? Why don’t we all make time to sit and savor breakfast more often this year?

I’m calling myself out on this one friends. I know I need to start my day off right, re-ignite my metabolism with fuel, be a role model for my daughters, etc. I know all the solid health benefits of breakfast but honestly, I had a hard time putting that into practice last year. When I did eat breakfast, it was a rushed meal at the kitchen sink, or worse, it was a protein bar and a cup of coffee I could take with me as I headed out the door. This year, I’ve decided to stick with tried and true foods I know I’ll eat, and my body will respond well too and for me, that means keeping Cheerios™ on hand. Not just any Cheerios either. Sure, I could nosh on the original Cheerios and all would be well, but I’m loving their newest flavor- Oat Crunch Oats ‘N Honey from Walmart!

Last Saturday morning I sat down to a bowl of Cheerios™ Oat Crunch Oats ‘N Honey, some grapes and a small glass of orange juice and I wasn’t hungry for hours! This breakfast stayed with me much longer than my protein bar ever did. It was so nice to actually sit down at my table and truly enjoy a wholesome breakfast. I quickly noticed that every spoonful was filled with tasty goodness. It was like eating a spoon full of yum!

Be Realistic with your Goals in the New Year:


 I’m a realistic lady and I completely understand there simply isn’t time to sit down for breakfast each and every day, so there is no judgement from me if you eat your breakfast cereal straight out of the box, poured in a to-go container, or yes, even quickly over the kitchen sink. I do hope you’ll try to add at least one sit and savor breakfasts to your weekly routine this year though. It really is a relaxing experience. If it makes you feel better, consider you will be multi-tasking in a way. You’ll be nourishing your body and your mind by taking some me time.

Hello 2020!



I’m still getting used to writing 2020 on everything and getting my goals in order for this shiny new year and decade, but the one thing I am sure about is taking much better care of myself moving forward. Each morning is a fresh start towards that goal, and I plan to fuel mine with an abundance of optimism and bowls of Cheerios Oat Crunch Oats ‘N Honey!

Hi Heidi,

I used to eat Cheerios alot, especially with my daughters, but I got so busy, I stopped. This year I'm treating myself to breakfast more and these Oat N Honey Cheerios are my fave!

I sure will! I CANNOT skip breakfast...if I do, I drag all day. And anything with oats takes down cholesterol. These are VERY good!
