Wordless Wednesday- Fungus Among Us - My WAHM Plan

Wordless Wednesday- Fungus Among Us

At first we noticed these small Mushrooms under our trees.

Then we got a few of these big Mushrooms in our front and back yard.

Now the big Mushrooms have turned into a pretty good size Fairy Ring.

That is so cool how the grow in that ring! I had no idea that happens :)

I learned that they are there due to where a tree had been in the past. They usually show up around where the sun would have shown around the old tree. We have that same thing in our backyard with the old stump right in the middle. Amazing nature!!

Hi Heidi,

We have lived here for 7 years and we never had this ring before. It's pretty cool. I think they come up this year because we've gotten so much rain.

Hi Jamie,

We've owned this land for just seven years, so your tree theory could be correct, although I don't see any signs of a stump, its all flat land. But, there are trees near by, so they might have attracted our fairy rings.
And yes, nature is so amazing!

My friend has had this fairy ring too. My yard guy says the soil is good if you get mushrooms....not sure how I feel about that.

I never knew mushrooms could do this either! So very cool! Thanks for sharing.

Hi Maria,

I guess I should be glad I've got good soil then, because we are getting mushrooms everywhere!

I even got a death cap in one of my flower pots, so I spent a week saying to the kids and guests, don't touch the pretty yellow mushroom! Finally it died.

Hi Natalie,

We didn't know either. It's been cool to watch, but now they ring is starting to fade as the mushrooms die off one by one.

Glad you got a great photo of it then Linda, before they all die :)
