Loreal Says:

This is an all-in-one beauty solution that does it all. It’s formulated to prime, perfect, hydrate and correct. To apply, simply dot on and blend with your fingertips. Self-adjusting beads will instantly transform to your skin tone.

After reading that, I couldn’t wait to try this product and have been using it for over a week now. I wanted to love this product, especially since I know Loreal products won’t irritate my face or cause breakouts.  But for me to love a product, it must Wow me and pass my scent, feel, use test.

My Review:

There is no scent to this product, which is a plus because there is also no sunscreen in it so you will have to apply sunscreen first. That is a negative for me on time crunched mornings when I really do need an all-in-one beauty solution. I used it alone on mornings I ran my daughter to choir and felt bad for not protecting my face from the sun.

To be fair, I will say that this beauty cream gets along well with other products including sunscreen and concealer, so it is a good primer and an excellent moisturizer.

Plus, you really don’t need a lot of product, just a pea size dot for each part of your face. It starts out opaque but instantly turns color upon contact with your skin.

I really like the lightweight feel of this product. You can’t really tell you have it on, except for the color. I am using the light tone and it turned a little too tannish on the parts of my face that don’t get as much sun exposure, like the jaw line. But it matched well to my forehead as shown in these photos.

after shower
This is a natural light picture of my forehead just after my shower before applying product.

This is my forehead 20 seconds after applying the pea sized amount of product to my forehead.

Blending was easy though and I found I could correct the off color by dabbing a little foundation on and blending again. This beauty balm lasts all day without turning my face into an oil slick or changing color; which are huge plus’ for me.

The Take Away:

I would give this product a solid B. Loreal should add sunscreen to this for it to be a true all-in-one beauty solution.
I would recommend this product for minimal makeup wears who don’t use a lot of makeup or for those who have good skin and don’t require makeup because this product alone isn’t going to cover blemishes, sun spots etc. It also serves as good primer.

I liked this product well enough to try it in a lighter shade and to keep it in mind for when my teen daughter starts wearing makeup. (If your are reading this dear Tera, no, not yet)!

  1. I've been looking for a new primer (my old brand changed formula and it breaks me out in a rash now). My skin is so sensitive, so i'm glad there isn't a fragrance, and sunscreen actually irritates me too (I've learned to love hats). I will have to give them a try.

  2. I wish it had an spf already in it...who has time to layer on 3 or 4 things in the monring?!

  3. Hi Heather,

Sounds like this BB cream was made for you. I am glad this review helped you. Please let me know if you do try it. I'd love to know your thoughts.

  4. I love loreal! It's great to hear that it works well! I have to try it for myself!

  5. I agree with the downside of not having sunscreen in it, that would be an issue in the morning chaos

  6. That is a bummer that sunscreen is not included..... I am very fair skinned and require spf

  7. I havent tried a beauty balm yet because I really don't wear makeup, but I like that it sort of color matches your skin and keeps you moisturized without getting shiny!

  8. Hi Sam,

It is tricky to add the sunscreen and the the BB cream but I got it down to a science: put sunscreen on, go make a cup of coffee then apply BB cream. I added 2 minutes to my morning routine, so not too bad.
    Thanks for stopping by.

  9. Hi Darlene,

Not having sunscreen on for a couple of mornings so I could test this product alone bugged me to no end.

    Have a great day!

  10. Hi Angela,

I agree, sunscreen is so important to all of us, but especially fair skinned ladies. I fall just outside true fair skinned, but I still need all the protection I can get.

    Have a great day!

  11. Hi Marissa,

I love Loreal too, so I'm happy I could give their BB cream a great review and that you found it helpful.

    Thanks for visiting!

  12. I haven't tried this. I like their products and use them daily.

  13. I have been so out of the beauty and makeup game. I worked on a ranch for a lot of years and besides basic washing and putting lotion on I haven't taken care of that side of myself in a while. I am trying to educate myself on products new to me. I am a bit older and the same things that worked 10+ years ago just don't work any more. Thank you for the information.

  14. Hi Sandy,

I love that you shared part of your story with me. It's so hard for us to set aside time to take care of ourselves sometimes. A good BB cream like this one is a great place to start because you just blend it in and it helps correct and protect your skin.

  15. It's a real bummer that this product is devoid of SPF. The importance of SPF can't be emphasised enough especially given the perennial sunshine in Cali which is where I'm based.

  16. Hi Neha,

I agree with you on the need for Loreal to add an SPF to this BB cream. Thankfully, it works well with the moisturizer I use, so I can use both products together. Thanks for your input!

I'd love to hear from you!
