#Review - My WAHM Plan #Review

With one daughter in middle school and one in elementary school, I thought I had a few more years to think about college tuition, courses and books. I was happy to stay in the here and now, setting aside what we could for college and praying for partial scholarships.
Sound familiar?

Then a few weeks into the school year, I had a conversation with a teacher at my daughter's middle school that changed my way of thinking completely. This teacher shared her knowledge on higher education, college entrance procedures and costs.
She offered advice on helping us prep for high school and college beyond AP classes. Yes, my daughter is only an 8th grader, but we must have our eye on her college needs now. As this teacher told me, if you wait until 10th grade, you are behind!

That’s why I am excited to have the opportunity to share with you a resource that not only helps college bound families save money on books, they offer a scholarship as well. I invite you to check out

Here are some perks of renting texts books with them:
Save 40-90% off bookstore prices (I compared prices on this book and I can save 50%).
Free shipping both ways
Can highlight in the textbooks
Flexible renting periods

They also support a charity that is near and dear to my heart: Operation Smile.

This is from CampusBookRental’s website:

"We have teamed up with Operation Smile, an out of this world, awesome organization, that performs life changing cleft lip surgeries on children whose families could not otherwise afford it. The long term Improvement in quality of life for the children that receive these surgeries is almost incomprehensible. We have committed to donating enough money to cover a minimum of 1,000 life changing surgeries. We hope to beat that number, but it's a significant commitment. Like Big!

So for EVERY book rented this year, we will donate a portion of the proceeds to Operation Smile with our sights set on meeting and exceeding our goal of 1,000 lives changed. So add that extra book to your cart, and consider this goal as you go back to school this year. supports the children of Operation Smile, and we thank you for your support.

You can read about our commitment here:"

I am thankful I have this resource for the future needs of our daughters. I hope you find this review helpful. Please visit to learn more and share this with family and friends who have college bound kids.

  5. Hi Tammy,

I actually thought of you when I saw that they support Operation Smile because you are so generous in your own support of charities. She wouldn't ever do this, so I will, Tammy earned money on her blog and is donating it. Visit her at and see!

  6. You are very welcome Shauna! Thanks for stopping by.

  7. Hi Heidi,

Yes, they would have benefitted alot of us, but I am so glad I have this resource for my kids.

  8. Hi Esther,

I love hearing that your husband has had positive experiences with Campus Book Rentals! They seem like such a great company to work with.
    Thanks for sharing!

  9. Hi Ellen,
My heart goes out to you! College is very costly and getting more so by the day. I hope your daughter is doing well and is settled into her classes and routine!
    Thank you for visiting.

  10. Linda, if you really want to think outside the box in regard to saving money on tuition, you need to visit:
It is possible for your daughter to earn her entire associates degree through independent study. Each college has a "credit by exam" policy and this route would save thousands upon thousands of dollars. Actually, I'm using this route now, to finish my bachelor's degree! Extremely affordable!

  11. Hi Ashley,

Thank you for this helpful information! I appreciate your input very much and best wishes on your continued education for your BA. I can only imagine the long study night you must be putting.
    Take care!

I'd love to hear from you!
