I can’t fight this feeling -- I’m so happy spring is here! We did a lot of fun, spring activities this past week because my girls were out of school for spring break. We took a couple of day trips and our road trip music of choice was The Awesome Mix Tape Vol. 1 from Guardians of the Galaxy!
Have you seen the movie yet? My family and I loved watching it and all our favorite scenes were brought back to life just listening to the CD. We tried to envision where each song was in the movie, with pretty good results. Whether you have seen the movie or not, if you love throwback 70s style music, you are going to love this 12-track CD! Some of the tracks you’ll enjoy are:
- “Hooked on a Feeling” by Blue Swede
- “Spirit in the Sky” by Norman Greenbaum (note-this song wasn’t in the movie, but fits perfectly on this mix)
- “Fooled Around and Fell in Love” by Elvin Bishop
On one of our lounge days, the girls and I popped in the Into the Woods CD. This 2-disc collection is simply enchanting! There are 34 tracks on CD 1 and 16 tracks on CD 2. Lots of great #Disneymusic to enjoy!
It drew us into the story with its beautiful, sweeping melodies and the storyline was being expertly sung. Almost too expertly, if you can imagine, because we haven’t seen the movie yet! Even though it was hard to do, we skipped around tracks to break up the story until we can see the movie.
Some of the songs you’ll enjoy on these CDs are:
- “Prologue: Into the Woods” (Yes, Meryl Streep can sing, too!)
- “Hello Little Girl”
- “The Slipper Fits”
During an afternoon tea, we relived all the love and magic we felt when watching Frozen by popping in Frozen The Songs CD.
All our favorite songs are on this 10-song CD and it had us dancing around our kitchen while we baked spring cookies. There’s…
- “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?”
- “Love Is an Open Door”
- And one of my personal favorites: “Fixer Upper”
This CD comes with a poster on the back of the words too. Sure to delight any true Frozen fan!
Last, but not least we got in touch with our inner preschooler/kindergartener and listened to Disney Junior DJ Shuffle 2.
Even though this 30-track CD isn’t for my girls’ ages anymore, we had fun with it! We danced along to:
- “Rockin’ the Right Note” from Doc McStuffins
- “Play With Us” from Sofia the First
- “Wendy’s Song” from Jake and the Never Land Pirates
This CD boasts 4 instrumental karaoke songs too, sure to please anyone in the Disney Jr. crowd! You can learn more about the CDs I’ve shared with you today and many more Disney tunes, by visiting the new Disney Music Emporium.
