It’s
getting close to total de-clutter and clean time here at my house in
preparation of the Holidays, so before I share some of my sanity saver tips on de-cluttering, I
wanted to share a tip sure to please all you bakers out there, which includes yours truly. :)
A Handy use for Lemons past their prime:

Okay, so the pretty Lemons above certainly aren't past their prime- but I just couldn't bring myself to snap a picture of my old Lemons and put them here on the blog- so you'll just have to go into your kitchen and find your own old Lemon and before you chuck it- cut it up instead and use it to clean!
My Tip:
Quickly get
odors out of wooden bowls, cutting boards and rolling pins by rubbing them with a piece of
lemon. Don’t rinse off the juice! The wood will absorb the lemon juice. And you are good
to go. Easy-Peasy, Lemon Squeezy.
The
kitchen will smell so good; your family may think you’ve made lemon bars! Mmm…
lemon bars. I just may whip some up. Do you have a great lemon bar recipe to
share with me? Let me know in comments!
Happy
Holidays!
I love using lemons and love them in my water.
ReplyDeleteLemon bars sound so good right now! Great tip, thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteMy kids would spend all the time looking for the lemon bars and then demand I make some if I tried this. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Grace,
ReplyDeleteI used to drink Lemon water and got out of the habit. Thanks for the reminder!
Hi Barb,
ReplyDeleteDon't they sound good? I'm going to have to make some soon!
Hi Pam,
ReplyDeleteHa! Your kids sound just like my kids- they would be on the hunt!
I didn't realize that lemon could help wooden bowls and cutting boards. Can't wait to try this and see if I can make our one wooden cutting board more appealing!
ReplyDeleteI love lemons and the way they smell. I will have to try this tip. Another thing I do with them is put them down the disposal and grind them up to make it smell better.
ReplyDeleteHi Christina,
ReplyDeleteI love the smell of lemons as well! And anything that all natural and helps keep odors at bay is a great tool to have.
