Color of the month- July 2017 – Burgundy - My WAHM Plan

Color of the month- July 2017 – Burgundy

We did a lot of back to school and dorm room shopping over the last few weeks, which led to my color of the month post being shared a little later than I wanted. The upside is I discovered the perfect color of the month to share because we saw it everywhere! From velveteen throw pillows to cute dresses, a deep, rich, warm and inviting Burgundy has me longing for crisp fall days.

How to create with Burgundy:

There is something about back to school time that makes me want to pull out my craft supplies and create something. This beautiful piece of scrapbook paper has me wanting to try new paper craft projects like the beautiful paper flowers Susan Beech makes over at A Petal Unfolds.

How to Wear Burgundy:

I saw several cute tops and sweaters with bell sleeves in Burgundy and will be adding those to my wardrobe soon, but first, let’s talk about all the beautiful dresses! Dresses are a must this year and there is a length and style for everyone. I’d love to get this pretty dress for my daughter to have for special events at college.

How to add Burgundy in your garden:

Fall is a fantastic time to plant a wide range of flowers, shrubs and trees that can add Burgundy to your landscape. No plant says happy fall quite like Chrysanthemums and you’ll see them in garden centers and nurseries starting next month. If you want to add a focal point to your yard, I would suggest getting a Hawthorne tree. I love ours because it’s small and offers appealing colors, including Burgundy leaves and berries in summer and fall.

Here is my Pinterest board for this month’s color for even more inspiration. I hope you enjoy it!
