Happy last Friday of May friends! May is one of those months that has thirty one days that pass by in the blink of an eye because of all the end of school year activities. Even though I’m on the other side of the May school day chaos, I remember it well and so many of my friends and readers are still in te thick of it. This giveaway is my way of helping you kick of your summer family movie nights in style.

Hello, and happy 2024! I might be overstating the obvious here, since my last blog post was on December 22,2023, but I have relished having time off to fully enjoy the holidays and my people. I’m coming back to work today feeling rested and ready to take on this new year full of possibilities. Before I dive into this year, I thought it’d be fun to take a look at my top ten blog posts of 2023 and share what’s in store for 2024.
As you know, I love holiday films, having reviewed Red One with Dwayne Johnson and A Sudden Case of Christmas with Danny DeVito last month. I will add my two cents on Dear Santa with Jack Black very soon. Today’s review is for a film that won’t give you the warm fuzzies like most of Hugh Grant’s films do (hello holiday classic Love, Actually, Happy 20th!). Prepare yourself to see Hugh Grant in a whole new light in Heretic.
Happy Valentine’s Day to all who celebrate it! This year, it’s just my husband and I celebrating now that we’re empty nesters. Our youngest daughter moved out just before Thanksgiving. I’m still adjusting to this new normal, which has had some ups and downs. One of the downs is I’ve been in a bit of a creative rut. When I read a friend's blog post this morning with this fun writing prompt, I knew it was just the thing to spark my creativity. I’m joining Mix and Match Mama and her monthly writing prompts where we share little peaks into our lives.
Being a nature lover, especially one who loves forests, and a film lover, I couldn’t pass on the opportunity to see Mavka: The Forest Song, a fairytale film adventure that made its United States debut on August 15, 2023 via Shout! Kids, Ukraine-based Animagrad Animation Studio, and UA Group. If love adventure, nature, and animation, then you’re going to love Mavka and want to enter the giveaway below.
Talking about sick children with cancer isn’t a topic I normally cover here on my blog, but watching and reviewing films is. Today, those two topics collide as I share my no-spoiler review of Audrey’s Children, a biopic film that takes on children’s cancer in 1969. Since this is a no-spoiler review, I won’t go into much detail about the children, but please stop reading here if this topic is upsetting.

Happy Friday and happy summer, dear readers. I know we hear this a lot, but seriously, it feels like this year is zooming past. Yesterday marked just six months until Christmas! While I love the idea of a Christmas in July sale, I’m keeping things seasonal here. Today, I’m sharing three great books I received for review.
With fall break right around the corner for many families, I’m excited to share that as of October 7, 2025, Bad Guys 2 is out on digital, 4K Ultra HD, and Blu-ray. If you haven't seen this in theaters yet, this perfect time for you to grab your copy for family movie night.
Do you remember reading the Frog and Toad book series as a kid? I sure do and so does my husband. In fact, he loved these two so much, he couldn’t wait to read them to his daughters. Passing on the fun-filled, light hearted, adventures of Frog and Toad are treasured memories for my family and now, a new generation can join the fun by watching the new Frog and Toad series debuting on Friday, 4/28/23 on Apple TV+.
