Are you hosting a holiday event soon? I’m hosting on two occasions between now and the new year, so stocking up on dinnerware now for holiday entertaining makes sense to take advantage of current sales and ensure there is plenty of dinnerware on hand. I recently found a beautiful blue porcelain, dinnerware set from over&back that I'm excited to share with you today.

We are in the home stretch of October, and for parents with younger kids, I wish you a happy and safe Halloween. As for me and my crew, this will be the first year without family plans. Such is the life of an almost empty nester. Don’t feel bad for me though! I’ve got lots of fun holiday coverage that I think you'll like! Everything from helpful gift guides to home decorating to baking!  Let's cue the holiday playlist and talk about a lovely book I recently received to review: French Country Cottage Christmas! Want to win a copy? Read until the end of this post for details.

Even though I grow flowers and bring fresh bouquets to add beauty and nature to my space, I’m always sad to see the blooms wither and have to be thrown away. I’ve tried drying special flower arrangements over the years, but my efforts were unremarkable and I knew I needed to leave this endeavor to a professional! Today I’m partnering with Roxanne’s Dried Flowers to show how dried flowers are a low-maintenance way to add floral beauty to your home.

Happy October dear readers! There was a chill in the air, leaves are starting to change colors, and there's pumpkins everywhere. For some spooky season is the BEST season and I've got to admit, I've been bitten by the Falloween bug this year! My porch is decorated and parts of my home are as well, but I still need some cute pieces to tie it all together. That's why I'm giving away a $25 dollar gift card to my newest brand partner, Signature Homestyles! As a Signature HomeStyle affiliate, I now have my own SH shop and I'm in love with Falloween decor! You know who else loves Falloween? Blogger Talk Bloggers! That's why I've teamed up with them to host this giveaway and share the  Hawloween blog hop with you.

Happy Falloween!

Not just any candles, these are beautiful hand poured candles with wooden wicks, made locally in Franklin TN. That giveaway had over 1500 entries in just a week, so I know you will love this giveaway and I hope you’ll join me in celebrating my partnership with them as their ambassador! I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to share this small business with amazing candles with you.

This month's color choice was inspired by a cute DIY project I did for my cat's litter box area. I fell in love with the rug I found that helps capture tracked litter. Fiona my youngest cat, loves this rug too!

Color of the Month - June 2015 - Turquoise

in , , , , , by Linda A Kinsman, Thursday, June 11, 2015

One of the easiest and often prettiest ways I've found to lighten and brighten our home is with decorative glass items. My husband and I are both drawn to unique glass pieces, so you'll find of lot of it in our home. June's color of the month- Turquoise, was inspired by some of my favorite bottles and vases.

The wonderful thing about  the color Turquoise is how each piece is unique in color depending on the light and the material. Some pieces look bluer, some pieces, greener. Yet all of them beckon you to dream of water and warm days.

Here's my Pinterest board for more inspiration and ideas on how to decorate your home and your life with this beautiful color.

Happy warm summer days everyone!
