Hello my friends! I've missed you. I took some much needed time off from writing and creating here to get my family and I prepped for summer, which officially starts tonight. Hello summer! Today I'm seeing red, a beautiful true red inspired from crazy good summer fruit like strawberries and watermelon. Take a look at my Color of the month for June inspiration and collab board below.

I almost missed the first color of the month for 2017 because I was trying to talk myself out of my first color choice, because it would mean for the third year in a row, I've picked a shade of blue for January's color of the month. But, the more I let this post sit, the more I knew this was my pick, so without further delay I give you my January color of the month: Blue Gray.

My inspiration came from a photo of this amazing door.

Once I clicked over to learn more and saw that this door represented Diamond Vogel's 2017 Color of the Year, I was hooked!

Here is my Pinterest board collaboration. I hope it inspires you to embrace the blue-gray days of winter and look forward to springs thaw!

Happy Nesting!

Happy Friday Eve dear readers! April is one of those months that can sneak right past in a blur of activities. From school programs to sporting events, we are all busy! Why not take a moment to enjoy April's color of the month- Sherbet Orange with me. This month's inspiration came from a recent sunrise that had a beautiful layer of sherbet orange in it.

Color of the Month- March 2016 Succulent Green

in , , , , , by Linda A Kinsman, Friday, March 11, 2016
If we named months by the color we associated with them, March would simply have to be called green if you ask me! Green is everywhere! From the tiny light green fronds on my weeping willow, to the verdant green grass I see from my window, to the delicate green leaves of my newly emerging succulents. The photo of them below was the inspiration for March's color of the month.

I've curated a Pinterest board full of beautiful succulent greens this month. If you have a pin that would be perfect for my collection, leave me a comment and I'll add it!

March is a perfect time to start a new hobby as the days get longer and warmer. For me, nothing soothes the soul quite like making something with your hands. Whether your craft style leads you to the kitchen to cook, the kitchen table to craft,  or to the garden to work in the soil, everybody can be crafty. Yes! Even you!

Some of my friends don’t think they have the time or skills to do a craft properly, so I wanted to share some amazing free mini-courses offered online at Craftsy.

Spring will arrive in just 10 short days! I can’t wait for the world to awaken all around us in varying shades of beautiful, lush greens.  In honor of this season, I chose Emerald Green as March’s color of the month.  Not only will this color be seen in our landscapes- we will be seeing it in our wardrobes and homes as well. Dark green is having a moment this spring and I say embrace it and welcome Emerald Green into your life.

The Wait is over

in , , , , , by Linda A Kinsman, Monday, June 16, 2014

This is a very happy Monday for me because my new blog design is installed and working perfectly!

This new design, lovingly crafted and installed by Jana from littlewebwritinghood fits my personality by being clean, functional, professional and pretty.

Now I’m ready to get back to the business of blogging because I feel good about my blog- I know I’ll be putting my best foot forward so to speak. And if I never see that particular shade of green that was prevalent in my old blog design, so much the better!

If you are ready for a new look for your blog- I highly recommend Jana! Visit her Etsy shop for pre-made Blogger and WordPress templates, or you can hire her to make a custom template for you. She is a professional all the way- answering emails quickly, giving updates on status, has a very quick turnaround, is budget friendly and is super nice!

Plus- she was more than willing to change the design as we went along. For instance, we both decided pretty quickly that the font I’d chosen for my header wasn’t going to look the way I wanted it. Jana’s solution was to make me 5 header options to choose from, free of charge.
It’s hard to find a business that will go the extra mile these days- but littlewebwritinghood did.
She doesn’t know I’m writing about her here, she didn’t ask for any special promotion, even though I offered. An Etsy review was all she wanted. Of course I’ll be writing her a raving review on Etsy- but I wanted to shine a special light on her and her business because she is a gem!
