Tis the season to say yes by serving readymade appetizers - My WAHM Plan

Tis the season to say yes by serving readymade appetizers

The happiest time of the year is upon us and I am ready to enjoy all the magic filled events I can with family and friends.  This is the time of year to say yes to party invitations, whether it’s a bonfire (our personal favorite thing to host), a cozy potluck, or an afternoon filled with rooting on the home team either at home or tailgating. You really should say yes more to this kind of fellowship, even if it’s a spur of the moment invite. Don’t worry about what to bring! Tis the season to serve up smiles with readymade appetizers like the delicious party trays from HORMEL GATHERINGS.

I received free product from HORMEL GATHERINGS in exchange for my honest review. All opinions and my love of cheese and olives is 100% my own.

Me Host?

Ask any host or hostess and they will probably tell you that sometimes having people over can be stressful. There are valid reasons to say no, I get that. I’ve talked myself out of hosting before because I thought:

  • My house was too messy
  • I didn’t have enough seating
  • I didn’t want to serve food nobody liked
  • I don’t have time to cook for a crowd

Sound familiar? I think ladies in particular want everything to be perfect and when we can’t envision that perfection, we just say no to the whole thing. But what if this season we pare down our visions and just say yes? Yes to not caring about dust bunnies, or folding chairs, or readymade appetizers. I was so pleasantly surprised when we recently tried a HORMEL GATHERINGS party tray for the first time.

Say yes with readymade appetizers:

Each HORMEL GATHERINGS tray comes loaded with enough sliced meats, cheeses and crackers to feed a crowd, all individually wrapped and placed in the divided serving tray. The great thing about each food being individually wrapped is you can take this to any gathering without fear of everything getting all messy before you serve it.   You simply take off the lid, open up the packages and place the food back in their sections and your appetizer is ready!  It doesn’t get much simpler than that.

My Thoughts:

These trays are affordable ranging in price from around 12 dollars to just under 16 dollars. I couldn’t purchase all of the ingredients to make my own meat and cheese platter for less.

Perfect Finger Food:

But how does it taste you ask? I was happy with how fresh everything tasted! My favorite was the pepper jack cheese with salami on a cracker with an olive on top. So tasty and good together. You should try that flavor combo.  My daughter and I shared this plate full of tastiness. She is more of a purist, preferring to eat her apps individually. That’s one of the best parts of hosting, seeing others enjoy simple food and each other’s company!

I will say that the olives were a bit mushy and messy to open and move to table. Next time I’ll remember to spoon out some of the juice from them, because they are a family favorite.

Enjoy the season:

Tis the season to say yes friends, so don’t be afraid to serve readymade appetizers, especially these meat and cheese party trays from HORMEL GATHERINGS. You can find a retailer near you by visiting their website here and be sure to follow them on Facebook and Pinterest for fun hosting ideas.

I only have a few get together's coming up, but that can still be stressful. Even going to someone else's home can be stressful. First there is the weather, we live in the NY snowbelt, deciding what looks appropriate and sometimes that is everything I own. I don't want to worry about what I'm serving or bringing. I love ready made food. I'm not a prep or cook extraordinaire! I absolutely love the idea of Hormel Gatherings, they helped make my holidays!

I love easy peasy appetizers like this! I'm not much of a cook so this is my go-to.

No I won't be hosting any parties in the near or far future! But I bet my friend who does would love for me to bring one of these party platters for her to use at her next party!!

I have no plans apart from close family, I remember the last time we hosted a party for hubbies birthday and by the time I had done all the food preparations I was exhausted!
